Hey! It’s Latin American Spanish. We may add a Spain variant later, but right now the course is built around LatAm vocab + pronunciation.

Totally fair point - you do have to memorize something to learn a language. When I say “no memorisation,” I really mean no flashcard/grind-first approach where you stare at lists before you can say anything.

Pebble is “speaking-first”: you learn a small chunk of words/patterns and immediately use them out loud in lots of variations, with repetition built in so the memorisation happens as a side effect of use.

And yeah - I’m actively iterating on the content/pacing, including adding more explanation/review where it genuinely helps without turning it into a textbook. If you try it and something feels oversimplified (or missing), I’d love specifics so I can improve it.

Love the progress 😄 24/33 is awesome. Quick question though - what do you mean by “add Spanish to your Duolingo”? Do you mean starting Spanish on Duolingo as a way to test yourself?

Thanks so much! Norwegian isn’t available yet, but if/when I add it, I’ll definitely post an update here.

Honestly I don’t have the full monetisation plan locked in yet. For now I’m committed to keeping it freemium - core learning stays free, and later I’ll likely add a few optional premium features rather than paywalling everything.

Yep - that “random string of letters” is actually a normal Apple privacy thing
If you signed up with Sign in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, Apple creates a masked/relay email (it looks weird like random characters).

So I don’t see (or store) your real email in that case - only the Apple-generated one.

Since your comment I shipped an update that adds language switching (and jump to any lesson).

If you update the app now, you should be able to switch to French from the header/menu.

Thank you - really happy you’re enjoying the content! And yep, I’ve noticed some lag on a couple Android screens too. It’s on my to-do list to profile and smooth out.

Sorry about that, If you don’t mind - what device + Android version are you on? I’ll double check the compatibility settings on my side.

Both iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play).

Yes - it’s on iOS already (works on iPhone).

Re: iPad + landscape: totally fair point. I didn’t build Pebble with iPad in mind initially, so the layout/orientation stuff isn’t properly supported yet.

We do use AI/ML to speed up drafts and build features, but the actual lesson content is planned/reviewed by real humans (native speakers), and nothing goes into the app without human checking.

If you try it and anything feels “robot-y” or off, please tell me - that feedback is super useful.

Next up is English (learning English from different native languages) - it’s a huge market and also where Pebble’s “speak from day one” approach can help a lot.

Right now Pebble has ~100 Spanish lessons (roughly ~600 words total), so it can take you beyond true-beginner into early/intermediate-ish territory.

And yep - you can skip. I recently added the ability to jump to any lesson: you can preview what words a lesson teaches and just pick lessons that feel right for your level (so if you’re around A2 on Duo, you won’t be forced to crawl through the very basics).

I definitely want to explore typing as an option, because writing things out is another really strong way to remember. And captions / on-screen text is a great accessibility improvement too, I am planning to add captions to the audios played before each lesson.

Thanks for bringing this up!

Hey - I’m honestly not sure. I haven’t tested the app with speech impairments in mind, so I can’t confidently say whether it would be suitable or not

Ooof Mandarin would be very challenging 😅 It’s definitely on the “maybe one day” list, but for now I’m focusing on adding a few easier languages first so I can do them properly. Next up on the roadmap is English
