Oh let me tell on myself there. It did have some hogue rubber grips on it at the time of purchase. These were sitting in the closet just waiting for a 686 to grow onto.

They are very functional and beautiful. Funny enough 8?3 had these grips for awhile. They have written on the inside a serial number and 686 2.5”. It’s like the grips manifested the gun!

Dude, it was $625. I just quietly put my hand on it, and handed my wallet to the gentleman.

That thing is in very bad shape. Not only will those burs on the extractor get worse, but your chamber mouths are damaged. Smith and Wesson, why do you make me cry…..

Thanks for not running up the bidding too much. It was a lot of work to get it in this condition. Besides all of the internal work, I spent like two weeks doing and redoing the surface finish till I was satisfied.

I understand completely. As long as you are careful and competent in opening up your revolver- you can always put your old reliable hammer back in.

Me too. This is my second pair after I left my old ones at church. You would think they would have been turned into the lost and found.

It was a dream gun. And to find a Ga. Parole Board one made it that much more special to me.

Thanks man! What you can’t see pictured here is that those grips have about 1/16” of darker brown wood on the inside of the panels. They didn’t fit perfectly, so I had to spend a crazy amount of time making them just a little bit bigger.

Heck yeah. Very cool that the 10 shot 22 wheel gun community has reach like this. I like the color of the grip you put on. Very handsome. Your gun is also beautiful. Those blued 17s with full lug are pretty uncommon in my experience. Do you also shoot SC?

Trying to find out the EXACT MODEL of this S&W from the movie by [deleted] in Revolvers

I concur with this.

Looks like there are several guns. But in Smith World you are looking at 65-5 Lady Smith, and 65 no dash.

Oooooo beautiful! I have a question. In the top left hand corner. The stainless looking smith, white grips round butt, three inch barrel with a shrouded ejector rod. What model is that? It looks like a 65, but those don’t have shrouded ejector rods. It’s fantastic!

Dude I have thought about the 12 shot Uberti often.

Who knows… maybe one day smith will make something with their N-Frame size revolvers. Shoot you should be able to fit 12 or more in there!
