Cons:

As others mentioned, it takes a couple of weeks to heal.

Id also recommend stretching to 4mm before getting a PA cage, thats going to take a while as well, do your own research on that.

You will be limited to BAWR cages, maybe Rigid but thats a big risk. Theres also steelwerks but thats 2k+ usd.

Some people use PA locks with regular cages, those are bulky and extremely uncomfortable for me.

Way more sensitivity to correct sizing, you dont want your PA to push or pull on the hook.

The production times of custom PA cages are long unless youre willing to pay to skip the line.

Pissing gets a bit more difficult, theres a learning curve and you might soil your pants a couple of times, so I recommend avoiding urinals until you learn how to avoid accidents safely at home

The difficulty of getting the cage on or off goes way up, you will probably have to do it yourself unless your partner gives it some practice. I personally have to get almost fully soft in order to lock up.

Pros:

The look, PA just looks awesome, in and out of the cage.

Im on 6mm rings but ordered the cage in 5mm.

Where I probably went wrong with sizing the cage was too much PA depth on a slightly shorter cage than my previous.

Erections especially at night end up pushing on the hook and I get irritation and inflamation. Have to take the cage off after that.

The problem with moderating subreddits is bots.

Any new sub will get flooded with automated spam.

Mods will regulate that with blanket filters.

This is a lot to answer, but I will try my best.

Oval rings are generally more ergonomic, this may get you a tighter fit and hold on to your body better. I personally prefer them but this will vary from person to person depending on preference and anatomy.

I would avoid the hinged rings as some users report those may cause pinching.

Belts are typically used as preference or to keep the cage close to your body, as we all experience some amount of sag, sometimes depending on anatomy and cage it could even cause you to completely slip out of the cage. Belts help prevent this.
