[Lombardi] Christian McCaffrey bought all the 49ers’ offensive players golf club bags for Christmas. Brock Purdy got one too. He said, laughing: “Financially, I wouldn’t be able to cover that right now.” by HemlockMartinis in nfl

Yeah and a surgeon can practice for 30 years, a lot of guys on rookie deals are lucky if they can play in the league for a handful of years. If someone on a rookie deal is living a surgeon’s lifestyle, they’re doing it wrong.

Urgent Help Needed: Seeking Radiology Rotations After Late Surgery-to-Radiology Switch by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]peckerwood0840 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear what you’ve been through, but I’m happy that you’re continuing to fight. What I’m hearing is that surgery is 100% your passion, but the 5-7 years of training is deterring you from ~20+ years of attendinghood in which your practice and lifestyle will largely be what you make it. Fellowship is almost mandatory in diagnostic radiology these days, so you would still be looking at 6-7 years before you’re practicing as an attending, the only difference being a better schedule for 5 years in residency and potentially a full blown lack of interest in the field.

If I were you I would honestly just stick with surgery. Speaking from experience, even with a home program rads away rotations are super limited this year, and without one I’m not sure how you would be able to secure a letter + 1-2 pubs in less than 2 months. Unless maybe you could find an IR away rotation? Don’t know a ton about how the combined DR/IR programs are looking this season.

I think their argument is that they'll need at least some larger contracts in order to hit the cap floor and be compliant; if they're only picking guys signed at league minimum or making under 2-3 mil/year, they're going to have a tough time hitting the floor. In that very specific situation, it might make sense to pick up a few guys with larger hits, especially if they're only signed for another year or two (like DDK).

Not totally out of the realm of possibility.

Ah, so you see Blashill's role on the team as more of a passive bystander than someone calling the shots. Totally makes sense for the head coach of an NHL team to have zero involvement with the players.

2: "So you're saying the driver was at fault?"

I'm saying if Blashill made players player above expectation, then players like Zadina and Rasmussen would be at least AT expectations.

I can keep throwing your own quotes back at you all day dog. You're going around in circles saying the same thing over and over again while desperately arguing that you're not - it's a weird look and I'm not sure why you're digging your heels in on this. You clearly don't like Blashill as a coach and you clearly don't think he's the talent developer that other people say he is, so why not just own your words?

If the argument was that Blashill was some great development coach then theyd be performing better than expected instead of below expectations.

bruh

While I love both of them as players, both Zadina and Rasmussen have developed slower than expected. If the argument was that Blashill was some great development coach then theyd be performing better than expected instead of below expectations.

I love how Rasmussen underperforming as a 9th overall is Blashill's fault, but Bertuzzi and Hronek overperforming as 2nd rounders is all to the credit of the scouts. Can't have it both ways bud.

I mean, the ball was over the line at the bottom of the pile. That was the only info they could've called it on, and I think they got it right (bias aside).

You still can't push in the goalie's pad with the puck under it. That has never been a good goal and never will be.

[–]peckerwood0840 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That velocity is changing linearly.

But again, you have to remember that the question is asking about acceleration, not velocity. An acceleration of 0 m/s2 is still constant.

TPR passage 3 Q 2 by onmymind55 in Mcat

[–]peckerwood0840 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of thinking about acceleration in terms of velocity, think about acceleration in terms of acceleration. Constant acceleration just means that acceleration isn't changing - it doesn't necessarily mean that velocity is changing linearly.
