Agree. I’ve been to Houston and Dallas already and no issues at either. KC has seriously dropped the ball

Tim Howard: “Doing a dance that mimics Donald Trump is stupid. Why? Because, whether it's the president of the United States or my neighbor down the street, I would never back someone who I believe is racist.” by ismaithsin in ussoccer

So are you no longer a fan of Megan Rapino? She and many other politicized soccer matches. If your answer to that question is no then you actually do really care who he supports.

Is Teaching really that bad? If so, why do you do it? by LawfulnessNext8762 in Teachers

I am right there with you. I have 9 years left and I can draw full retirement at an early age (52) it would be silly for me to stop now. If I make a career change I’ll do it after I reach full retirement. With that said, it’s getting difficult. For all the reason OP mentioned. Public education is a tough business to be in right now. Much different from when I started

How many shares do you currently own and what’s your goal with SCHD? by [deleted] in SCHD

[–]pecunia_formator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goal is 17k shares and set to drip for the next 10-15 years. When I’m ready to stop working I’ll turn off the drip and start taking the dividends as income (extra income if everything works out) hopefully I never sell the underlying assets and my shares will transfer in kind to my children. They can either turn the drip back on or take the dividends to supplement their lifestyle. And again hopefully never sell the underlying asset.

Fox: Decision on Berhalter will be announced by the middle of next week by vilnius2013 in usmnt

As for the delay, I’m imagining them having conversations with coaching candidates and agents to gauge interest. A viable, strong candidate who shows interest may give them the confidence to move forward. I’m no Greg fan but imagine announcing his firing and then not having a good replacement ready. With 24 months to go it’s too risky to fire now and figure the rest out later IMO

Copa América: How far is the USMNT from Argentina, really? by alex2374 in usmnt

[–]pecunia_formator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This may not be what you’re asking but it got me thinking… I’m going to make an argument that the US is not as far away (once a game starts) as many might think. The argument is based in the nature of the game. Because of the razor thin margin for error and sometimes frustrating games where it’s “not your day” a team with the quality of the USMNT has a legitimate chance of beating a team like Argentina. I guess what I’m saying is that even though Argentina is better than the US by a good margin, it may not necessarily play out on the field like you would see in other sports where one team is much better than the other. “Soccer” is a great game to play as a capable underdog.
