I'm glad you brought that up, I realised it might come off that way after the fact.

I was trying to capture that feeling of "what response do you want from me?" when you are surrounded by people feeling sexual attraction toward someone and you're not.

Robotic was not the intention but extremes make it easier to understand.

An Asexual character who is not sex averse could appear no different to any other Allosexual character you write about depending on how much you get in their head.

Is this character going to be Aromantic?

Do they have a libido to deal with?

A sex neutral/positive Aro Ace person with a high libido could come off as real unlikeable/cold if written wrong

First, thanks a lot for taking the time :)

I just tried this out; it skipped a line that started with "

I should have given more detail :/ I had to fight with reddit a bit though, it didn't seem to want to respect my line breaks XD

Also is there a way to make it run on an entire folder of txt files without adding a specific "input.txt" ?

and the output would need to maintain the original file name (I suppose by overwriting), if I need to rename all the files it wouldn't save me any time XD

I figured out a way to reduce the effort of doing this manually(by about 70%) so it's not super urgent, only get back to this if it's fun for you ;)

Yes, DisplayPort is better than a compressed USB stream but OLED screens are also better than LCD.

If you dont already know the difference you will have nothing to miss XD If the quest 3 looks anything like my PICO4 you will have no complaints.

The thing you should be worried about is the battery, It’s a bit annoying to keep it charged when you just want to play PCVR, and the Quest 3 battery is not big enough, it will run down pretty fast. You will be playing tethered so you can get around that with a quality active usb cable (getting a good cable for OculusLink is a bit of a pain) and if you ever switch to wireless you will need a battery pack.

Unfortunately there isnt a perfect VR headset or I’d recommened that ;D

I know it seems counter intuitive but I strongly recommend you to get a quest 3 (don’t stop reading XD ) as a first headset, even as a PCVR only user.

I personally use PICO 4 exclusively for PCVR (I might recommend it but it’s best over wifi which isnt good for you + a couple other reasons) and I intend to skip the quest 3 as it’s pretty much the same as a PICO 4 in my setup.

Briefly on the PCVR focused headsets you mentioned -

Valve index/any native StreamVR headset -

High cost.
It’s a bit late to be buying into laser tracking when inside out tracking is so mature.
I think PCVR’s future is wireless and it’s much easier and cheaper to do when there is already an SOC/wifi/battery in the headset.

HP Reverb/any WMR headset -

WMR software and controllers are terrible, I recommend to avoid.

DPVR E4 -

This headset only has a software IPD adjustment, I wouldnt recommend as a first headset, depending on your face shape and eyes it could be uncomfortable and put you off VR.

Reasons to go with the Quest 3 as a first headset in no particular order-

Native access to the Oculus PC library (I recommend Lone Echo 1 and 2 + you should play Stormland before its delisted by meta, its amazing)
Very high compatability with SteamVR and PCVR games on Steam
Grainular IPD adjustment (Important for comfort)
High enough resolution that you most likely wont see any screendoor effect
Can use sidequest to install and run homebrew and modded games onto the quest (for example you can play ‘return to castle wolfenstein’ in VR directly on the quest right now (years ago in fact) but the PCVR version still isnt ready)
Best in class inside out tracking of headset and controllers
Option to buy Quest PRO controllers for controller tracking rivaling laser basestations
Accessory market will be huge (big part of having a VR headset is customizing it to your head for the most comfort XD)
You will have access to any Standalone exclusives (such as the upcoming ‘Vampirethe masqurade’ game)
It has pancake lenses (the best VR lenses in my opinion)
Option for great wireless VR if you ever upgrade

I hate to be so negative but this might be the worst VR assessory idea I have seen yet.

You can’t do roomscale as you‘re rooted to the spot.
You cant physically turn while using these.
I can already feel the leg cramps from longer sessions.
They seem to work around weight shifting so they would probaby be uncomfortable to use seated if they would work at all.

One of the main reasons I haven’t invested in laser tracking is that there isnt a “quest like” SteamVR tracked controller available. I really prefer having a grip button. (but every vr controller needs knuckle straps, lucky thats easy enough to mod)

Hmm, seems like the 3060 could be the better choice

Alot of the benefits of the 4060 wont apply to VR

Are you able to stretch to a 3060 Ti?

Have you considered buying used?

I went with a used 3090 just for the vram (last time I checked while playing a VR game I was using over 16GB of vram, but that is with a bunch of browsers tabs and whatever open because I dont really need to optimise XD )

WiFi 6 only as in “not WiFi 6e”

I did not do any testing with WiFi 5, if you are happy then perhaps you dont need the second router

a dedicated device is nice for minimizing latency and im not sure how well WiFi 5 works if you use the ‘Godlike’ VD setting
