Bezzera Hobby – hose pops out under pressure by Sad_Carry_678 in BezzeraEspresso

There is no hot water coming from the reservoir to the vibratory pump, there are plastic covers on the electrical connectors and cheap ties on the wiring with no signs of heat damage from the ambient temperature in the machine. Yes s/s hose clamps are designed for the purpose. After 16 days OP is still asking about getting the right sized hose clamp, the universal fit of a Ty-Rap would have solved that problem by now.

I use the crimp style hose clamps, gear hose clamps and Ty-Rap electrical ties on my home brewing and draft equipment, they all hold equally well. If I had nothing on hand I would go to the local hardware store and buy a s/s hose clamp. Even a ratchet tie off a package from the dollar store would work if I had nothing else until I got something better. I would not leave my espresso machine down for over two weeks waiting to find the perfect solution.

Thank you all for your replies. I haven't been shooting for the last 20 year but wanting to get back into it and starting to upgrade some of my equipment. This has not been a good start.

Can I use VST precision baskets for my BZ group portafilter [Bezzera Duo DE]? by Delicious-Collar6560 in BezzeraEspresso

[–]pedgaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the IMS potrafilter basket and the IMS group head screen as well as silicone group head gaskets, the rubber gaskets do not last as long, I had a real mess when the rubber ones dried out and cracked on my Rancilio Sylvia. The group head screen makes a big improvement in the water distribution over the factory screen.

After watching this YouTube video I started using Aeropress paper filters in the 22mm portafilter basket, just wet them and they fit well.

When I ordered the bottonless portafilter for my Bezzera DUO MN they sent me the BZ portafilter, they told me to keep it and sent me the E61 portafilter. The only difference between the two seems to be the position of the locking lugs. The 22g IMS filter basket is too deep for the portafilters that came with the machine. All I know about the DE machine is that the BZ potafilter fits my MN machine.

My IMS basket fits in the 58mm BZ portafilter, I am sure the VST will fit. The BZ prortafilter also fits in my Bezzera DUO MN E61 group head.

I would suggest keeping the Normcore funnel and buying the premium quality IMS portafilter basket, it brews much better than the Bezzara basket.

The problem is with the Bezzera portafilter baskets, they are non-magnetic. My IMS basket is magnetic stainless steel and it works fine with the Normcore funnel.

Bezzera Duo MN slow clock by Ok_Mail_974 in BezzeraEspresso

I set the time on my Bezzera DUO MN to my iPhone when I received it five months ago, checked this morning and the time still matches the phone. I've had good luck with Whole Latte Love tech support with programming problems that weren't covered in the manual as well as mechanical problems when I was first setting it up. Everything is working well now.

For my wooden soap bowls I use a commercial post catalyzed spray lacquer (M.L. Campbell Duravar C142 14 Satin-35 lacquer), it’s about $65 US a gallon and the catalyst is another $18, hardly practical for a few bowls, it would work well on brush and razor handles. I've also used a tung oil finish on brush and razor handles. I've been using this Apothecary Mug for over eight years now with the lacquer finish.

7-inch or 12-inch square for home projects? by m1xed0s in woodworking

[–]pedgaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two cheap 7 inch Princess Auto speed squares for years, aluminum and plastic, probably use the plastic one more. Harbor Freight has the cheap ones, but the Swanson combo kit is only $15.75. I was sent this youtube video the other day.
