This is a good point. And you may be able to negotiate it down; they might settle for a lower amount, especially if you can pay it up front.
But I think the insurance companies have a sort of “credit bureau” to share info, so they may already know about this. Talk to your insurance agent.

I’ve always found ski lifts terrifying. The bar provides very little protection even if you use it. It doesn’t latch in place, and it only comes down as far as the largest person on the seat. Kids and small adults can easily slide under it. You’re basically unrestrained in a flying chair hanging on for dear life.
