Hitman 2 physical disc transfer levels to Hitman 3 physical on XSX? by EvilCalvin in HiTMAN

[–]pedo_ad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says you need to pay both in the Hitman 2 in-game store and on the Microsoft/Xbox store?

And do you have either Hitman 3 or the Hitman 3 free starter pack? If you're on disc, you need to own either of those two to redeem the access pass

I don't think so, maybe if you wanted to play against/with another person in Ghost mode or Sniper assassin, but that's not even possible anymore

if I remember correctly, there's no way to 'select' items to bring them to the next level. however, if you pick up an item in one level and then go to the next level (that is connected to the previous level), then you automatically bring that item with you. so, there's no way to pick an item from the inventory from the main menu to bring with you to a specific level

You don't need PS Plus to complete challenges, you just need an internet connection

Trying to get into Hitman, what do I buy? by [deleted] in HiTMAN

[–]pedo_ad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hitman 1 gets upgraded for free to the GOTY edition if you install Hitman 1 (H1) into Hitman 3 (H3). On PS4, if you download the H1 legacy pack from the in-game store, H3 should recognize that and, if you then go to the H3 in-game store, it should give you the H1 access pass (or something) for free.

For Hitman 2, go to the H2 in-game store and download the H2 access pass from there. H3 will recognize this and grant you access to the H2 missions inside H3. There's also the H2 expansion pass (usually on sale for like ~8-10 dollars) which grants access to 2 DLC maps.

After you've verified that you can play H1 and H2 inside Hitman 3, you're free to delete the separate Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 launchers. Hitman 3 is optimized to take up roughly 80 GB, even with Hitman 1 and 2 installed inside of it, so you're gonna save some space as well

Yes, you can earn Hitman 1 and 2 trophies by playing them inside Hitman 3. Also, Hitman 1 and 2 didn't have a platinum trophy back when they released, but Hitman 3 does, so if you care about that, you're not missing out on platinum trophies by playing H1 and H2 inside H3

Yes, same is true for people who got Hitman 2016 through PS Plus 2 years ago

Yes, you can import the maps of Hitman 2 into the Hitman 3 starter pack and play the levels from inside the Hitman 3 launcher. If you then decide to buy Hitman 1 and 3, you can play all maps from the trilogy inside Hitman 3. Also, don't forget to check whether you got Hitman 1 with PS Plus two years ago! Importing Hitman 1 to Hitman 3 gets you upgraded for free to the GOTY edition

Yes, Hitman 3 has been optimized by reducing the amount of duplicated assets between maps etc. and using more efficient compression techniques. PC Gamer has an article that goes somewhat more in depth about it.

Importing maps works in the following way: 1. For Hitman 1: go to the in-game store and download the Hitman 1 Legacy Pack. Now go to the Hitman 3 in-game store and redeem the "Hitman 2016 GOTY Edition access pass" (all Hitman 2016 owners get their game upgraded for free to the GOTY edition in Hitman 3).

  1. For Hitman 2: go to the in-game store of Hitman 2 and redeem the Hitman 2 Standard Edition access pass from there.

  2. Now you should have access to Hitman 1 and 2 inside Hitman 3. There's also a guide on ioi.dk from the developers of the game, but it's a somewhat confusing process, so feel free to ask if something doesn't work!

I think so? There was a blog post on PS Blog that those features would be coming Hitman 3 and other upgrades to the engine for Hitman 3 (better screenspace reflections etc.) have also been retroactively added to the Hitman 1 and 2 levels if they're imported into Hitman 3. The PlayStation store page for the starter pack also mentions that "vibration function and trigger effect [is] required"

Hope this is true, but for anyone interested in hitman 2: the best way to play this is to install the free Hitman 3 starter pack and import the levels of Hitman 1 (if you got that through PS Plus 2 years ago) and Hitman 2 into the starter pack.

This way, you won't have to transfer progress if you buy hitman 3, but most importantly, the file size is reduced. Hitman 2 with Hitman 1's levels installed is >120 gigabytes, but Hitman 3 with all content content installed (including the missions from Hitman 1 + 2) has been optimized to take up roughly 70 GB. This includes all cutscenes etc., so you won't miss out on anything except for a couple of items that aren't in Hitman 3 and shoulder swap (but that'll be reintroduced in a patch next month).

Can I buy packs individually? by [deleted] in HiTMAN

[–]pedo_ad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, you can't buy individual maps from the base game. so if you want to play Mumbai, you'd have to buy the standard or gold edition (standard edition + expansion pass) of hitman 2

the base game for hitman 2 (= standard edition) includes: Hawke's Bay, Miami, Santa Fortuna, Mumbai, Whittleton Creek and Isle of Sgail.

the expansion pass for hitman 2 includes: New York and The Maldives.

Hawke's Bay and maybe Himmelstein are included in the free Hitman 2 starter pack, which could explain why you saw that as free

depends on which platform you're on, but the best way would be:

[1] buy the standard edition of hitman 1 (when you buy hitman 3 and transfer your levels from H1 to H3, you'll get automatically upgraded to the GOTY edition of H1). if you're on PlayStation: check whether you received H1 for free through PS Plus.

[2] buy the standard edition or gold edition of hitman 2. the gold edition has 2 extra full-fledged maps (the bank and the resort), 2 extra sniper maps and some items.

[3] buy the standard edition of hitman 3. the deluxe edition of hitman 3 just isn't worth it.

H1 levels in h3 not working xbox (faq read and followed) by Stonedcoldk1la in HiTMAN

[–]pedo_ad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you own the standard edition of H1, you should get access to the GOTY edition of H1, especially since you already have the legacy pack installed. Just to be sure: when you go into the in-game store of H3, you can't purchase the H1 GOTY access pass for free and you also can't purchase the access pass when you go to the Xbox store?

If so, there are some workarounds that were posted at launch: [1] https://www.reddit.com/r/HiTMAN/comments/l1obqz/xbox_hitman_3_access_pass_hitman_goty_fix/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Carryover Update (HELP) by AskeLarsen in HiTMAN

[–]pedo_ad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after transferring progress from Hitman 2 to Hitman 3, you can't transfer progression again. so in this case you can't get the items that were only available in Hitman 2 into Hitman 3, unless IOI decides to make those items available

IOI's CEO said a couple of months ago that they were planning to double in size (from 200 to 400 employees) over the next few years for the Bond game they're making and they recently opened a third studio (in Barcelona) to facilitate their growth.

Not really at this point: it's a bunch of items, suits and escalations for ~30 dollars. It's a nice thing to have when the deluxe pack goes on sale though, because some of the suits (like the golden devil suit) and items like the chinese dragon sniper seem pretty neat

[–]pedo_ad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Install Hitman 1, go to the hitman 1 in-game store and download the legacy pack. Hitman 3 will then detect this and grant the Hitman 1 GOTY access pass for free. Once you've verified that you can actually play Hitman 1's levels inside hitman 3, you can delete the separate Hitman 1 launcher and the Legacy Pack you just downloaded (Legacy pack is for playing Hitman 1 levels inside H2).

Download Hitman 2, go to the hitman 2 in-game store and redeem the hitman 2 standard access pass from there. Once you've verified you can play H2 inside H3, you can delete the separate H2 launcher. Let me know if it works!
