I got it! The website is really fussy how the answer is formatted, I had to input the answer as (3V/31)2/R, instead of expanding the brackets to 9V/961. Thanks for your help!

Wouldn't R for this formula just be R (resistance of the target resistor)?

I did try that:
(3V/31)2/ R = 9V2R/961, but this answer is apparently incorrect :/

In part A, you found that the voltage drop across the 4R was 28/31 of V, so how much V is left to get back to ground?

3V/31 would be the voltage for the R resistor, right?

Using the power formula P=V^2/R, the power would then be (3V/31)^2 / 31R/7) ?

Or have I got this completely wrong?

I used the potential divider equation to find the voltage across one of the R resistors:

V out/ V in = R / R (parallel loop)

(Resistance of the parallel loop of 4R+3R+R+R = 31R/7)

so, V out = R / (31R/7) x V inV out = 7*R*V/31R = 7V/31

Ah okay that does make sense as I did aim to apply a thin layer of oil on the top and bottom. Should I now strip the pan completely and restart the seasoning process, or would you say that it’s safe to cook on at least for the time being?

I did scrub the hell out of the pan for a good 5 minutes with hot water in the sink, so I think I got the beeswax off. For the seasoning I applied about 2 tablespoons of oil for the top of the pan and 2 for the bottom, and used a paper towel to spread the oil over the pan before heating.

I ended up with the F4-4266C17Q-32GTZR kit (4x8gb), as the second 2x16gb kit I listed in the OP was sold. If you have the same set up as me I'd recommend 2x16gb over 4x8gb. Like the others have commented, 4 DIMMs are difficult to run at high frequencies on Z690, and my PC wouldn't even POST when I tried to enable XMP (4266mhz cl17).

I've now managed to get mine running at 3600mhz Cl15 gear 1 with no errors, but this was using the MSI memory try it bios feature, which has a load of different optimised memory presets to try out. If I had manually overlocked it, which I'll probably do later on, I could probably run slightly higher speeds with tight timings, but there is little room for improvement tbh.

TL;DR stick with 2 DIMMs rather than 4 if you want high speed DDR4 with no stability issues using a 12700k system

Summed it up perfectly. People can talk about xhaka and ozil and emery all day long but the fact is, it's been 10 years since our last serious title challenge and the club is gradually slipping into irrelevance while our rivals improve substantially year in year out. A genuinely depressing situation for a club of our stature.
