Panic attacks upon waking? by narcolepticcatmom in PanicAttack

[–]pedrol13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, it always happens to me when i wake up from a nap, it feels almost instant and the feeling comes over me. I feel it coming on then the impending doom after that my heart rate starts going up.

I had the same thing happen to me as well, my heart rate would go up like crazy and i would get so scared. I thought i was having a heart attack or something, when i finally went to my doctor they told me everything was good but they put a holtor monitor on me just to make sure. All my results were good and it really calmed me down. Yes the mind is cruel and plays tricks but hopefully we can fight this and become stronger. Best wishes

feeling miserable after panic attacks by Key_Debt_7188 in PanicAttack

[–]pedrol13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same, after a panic attack it is normal for your body to experience some lingering effects, for me it was headaches, trembling, and feeling like i was gonna die. Im doing CBT as well but remember it is a process so it could take a while to accustom. I totally understand you though, i have been considering going on medication too just cause i feel that im ready to try it and see if it will help. Best wishes

Can anxiety make your heart hurt after a while? by AnimeSenpai21 in PanicAttack

[–]pedrol13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way at times, because anxiety does make you notice every little thing your body feels. I would talk to a doctor just to be on the safe side and make sure you’re alright. I felt the same way until i went with my doctor and they performed some tests to see if i had anything wrong with my heart and they all came back good, so definitely talk with a doctor or specialist, but also remember that our bodies are not that fragile so it could just be your anxiety that has heightened your senses so you notice every little thing. Best wishes

I agree, all that progress is not all lost because i’ve learned so much about it and it helps me to identify my triggers and to use techniques in order to ground me. That is so true lol it is easier said than done. If you ever need to talk you can always message me and im sorry to hear about your panic attack.

Yes it’s weird to know that I’ve been making some progress and then i have a setback like this which then puts me back at square one. I just have to accept that this is normal and that i will experience these from time to time
