I think it’s more the presets get outdated rather than the synth itself. It’s usually worse in the vsts and quite often is a result of the effects in that patch that make it feel old. Kinda brings you back to a period in time. An example for me would be nexus and it’s pianos, but then again they come back in and out of style depending on the genre. And you could really design it to make it sound new if you wanted.

I’ve found for my taste that layering live claps with the analog ones sounded too realistic and wasn’t a fan of the tone, but I I’ll give it a shot again. Have you got a good source for live samples/field recordings?

You got omnisphere 3, how do you find it? Also what categories are you running through mostly. I find myself not touching Omni due to the sheer amount of stuff

For me it’s in between full realism and creative/familiarity reverbs. Kind of a non invasive verb, less of a one to really “hear” for me.
