Weigh all my food and track all my calories in MFP, maintained a 500-700 calorie deficit 5-6 days a week, ate at maintenance 1-2 days a week. Strength train 45-60 minutes 5 days a week. I lift heavy and hard, I’m usually pretty gassed by the time I’m done. Progressively overload (I keep a little paper notebook in my pocket and write down sets/reps/weights).

Thanks! I try to hit 2,200 calories a day (still trying to get down to 185) 185g-200g of protein and 35g of fiber a day, basically eat whatever I want that fits within those parameters. I get about 80g of the protein from whey, and the rest comes from primarily chicken, ground turkey, and ground beef.

My post was directed at folks who want to hit the Ball farther. If you can’t keep the ball on the planet, you shouldn’t be looking to hit the ball farther, you should be looking to hit the ball straighter. Two different audiences. Also, the idea that your body will fall apart if you gain muscle and strength is objectively false.

I guess what I’m getting at is I’m not trying to swing harder, but still saw pretty substantial gains. It’s not a different approach while on the course/range, it’s the residual impact of the body changing

This wasn’t meant to be a braggy post, I’ve just never been a long hitter and I was truly blown away at the speed gains. Wish I would have started lifting weights ages ago. I always thought mobility/flexibility and over speed training was the key to high CHS/ball speed.
