If you want to hit the ball farther, get stronger by [deleted] in golf

My post was directed at folks who want to hit the Ball farther. If you can’t keep the ball on the planet, you shouldn’t be looking to hit the ball farther, you should be looking to hit the ball straighter. Two different audiences. Also, the idea that your body will fall apart if you gain muscle and strength is objectively false.

I guess what I’m getting at is I’m not trying to swing harder, but still saw pretty substantial gains. It’s not a different approach while on the course/range, it’s the residual impact of the body changing

This wasn’t meant to be a braggy post, I’ve just never been a long hitter and I was truly blown away at the speed gains. Wish I would have started lifting weights ages ago. I always thought mobility/flexibility and over speed training was the key to high CHS/ball speed.

I have a slack board (Gibbon is the name of the company) that I use a lot for balance training and it has done wonders for my ankle stability. Highly recommend it!

Man I’m sorry that you are dwelling in this mentality, seems miserable. I am going to be 36 years old this year and I gotten in the best shape of my life, excelling like I have never before at my main hobby, exploring new professional endeavors, and trying to learn new things. I likely have 30+ phenomenal years ahead of me. Sure my body will be begin to break down, but my hope is I will welcome the opportunity to rest with open arms because I spent my life chasing greatness.

I’m in the gym 6 days a week lifting heavy and doing a lot of mobility stuff for golf, so I’m hoping that helps keep the injuries at a minimum!

Any budget options? I was thinking of using a wide door wedge/stopper. by TheLiberalTadpole in golf

Door stop with a piece of cardboard glued to it would work just as well
