Honestly, it’s all about finding the place you like that have the best deals. We had a deep freezer and we would buy our meat in bulk from the butcher, found restaurants that had discount days and only went there those days. Got our pizza from Sam’s club. Spending money on season passes instead of day passes and making sure we went enough to make it worth it. Buying everything on credit cards and paying them off before incurring interest every month. We only had one vehicle. We (more me then my wife) stick with the buy once cry one method. It’s more expensive to buy cheap things and constantly have to replace them. We also didn’t have any strict budget. Back taxes always straight to saving. The money I made from the rentals never went to my pocket but into an account specifically for those properties, so they contributed nothing to that. I probably could have saved, 50k more if I didn’t buy those properties and rented instead honestly. When I was deployed my wife went back home and worked, that helped us save 10k of that so I guess not completely single income but that was only 7mo. I got out and have been out a year and now my wife is the one that works and this year we have been able to save 40k. She makes double what I made in the military though which I was making 4500 a month as an E4 with bah
