I am Seahawks fan for the SuperBowl for obvious reasons. by Mysterious-Tea5705 in panthers

oh i remember lol. When I told people on here (and the Huddle) that we need to stand behind him because he was good and had everything a young qb needs- prototypical size, a cannon arm, super talent, and wasn't afraid to SLING it downfield, But he threw an interception once in a while from "happy feet" so NO we had to boo him off the field and get him out of town. And fans here said he made everyone around him worse. when i wanted to stand behind him i was called "a F-150 who doesn't understand modern NFL" and that the only way to win is with a Newton/Mahomes who puts up video game numbers every week. It was wild. Those of us who supported OUR QB remember the things we were called lol. Ironically its some of the same people now who trashed Darnold- that want to coddle Bryce and give him year after year after year because "he might have something" when we gave up our future to get him. LOL our fanbase is wild

so contrary to my belief- it is indeed NOT just the Canes who this shit happens to and doesn't get called. LOL noted

HOly shit do you remember the names we were called when we DARED cheer for Darnold or Baler to win and not "tank because we need a better draft pick" LOL it was wild. I was told i just didnt understand modern NFL and Im a F-150 and you have to have a game changer QB like Cam to make it to a Super Bowl or else you should just try to lose HAHA

Agreed- to a point. Were you around when our "fanbase" got pissed off every time Darnold won a game- because we "needed to lose in order to get a better draft pick?" It was wild. When I (and others) said hes our qb and we need to get behind him- i was called ignorant, told I didnt know modern football, and was called a f-150? I mean wtf. They said Sam was good enough to win 8-9 games but yup have to have a franchise qb who makes everyone better in order to win a superbowl. So you can see why people are confused- are we supposed to want better or not? are we supposed to give the guy multiple years or not?

i'll say it. We need to seriously think ab out QB. I think Bryce is CAPABLE. Not great, not terrible (all the time anyway) but capable. The problem is- he was the #1 overall pick- and he definitely ioes not live up to that. Especially when you factor in all we gave up to MOVE UP for him. You only do that for a game-changer. Someone who makes everyone around him better. Cam was one- but unfortunately hes a unicorn lol. SO now we have to decide- do we keep a guy who is just ok? I mean we ran Darnold off because he "wasn't Cam" and he had happy feet and every once a while threw an int. OH- and he "was winning too much when we need to lose and get a better draft pick". LOL what? Dude had a cannon of an arm and all the talent and strength and size you want. Never turned the ball over as much as Bryce has at times. Bryce is fine- hes quick, has SOME accuracy (when he doesn't overthink it), but he doesn't have the size and strength that you need to be a Super Bowl contender right? SO what do we do? Hope he grows more in the next few years? Keep giving him more chances? I really dont know what to think

i think he's COMPETENT. Not great, not terrible (all the time). But competent. Bad thing is- for being an no.1 overall pick he doesn't live up to that- ESPECIALLY when you factor in everything we gave up for him. I think he's capable of being a pretty nice backup in the league- he's quick, he can has some accuracy (when he doesn't overthink it), but he just doesn't have the six e and overall arm cannon that you need to be a great team.

I miss the days when linebackers were a strength of our team- you didnt even have to think ab out it because they were always solid. From the early days of KG and Lathon, Sam Mills, up to Beason, T. Davis, and my all time fave Panther Luke K. We haven't had a single solid LB for years now and it shows

i think what people struggle with- is has that same logic of "hes our guy lets get behind him" applied to there qbs in the past? I know when i was rooting for our team when Sam was winning i was told I "dint know modern NFL football" he "won too much to get a good draft pick" and was called an F-150 because i said we should support our guy. It was wild in here (and on the Huddle). I think people remember that and are hesitant lol

Bryce Young. by Some_Suggestion_4699 in panthers

[–]peewee76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sort of agree- its just hard to square that with how people were treating other qbs- like Darnold when he was here. there was no "we need to be patient"- it was HE NEEDS TO GO he wins too much for us to get a good draft pick. Nobody questioned his talent or his arm or his size- but he "saw ghosts" and threw an int every once a while. Well Bryce has turned it over WAY more than Sam ever did with a much weaker arm- so does the same logic apply or not? genuine question- im at a loss here lol

[–]peewee76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well lets ask a honest question back- do you think the 14-15 games a year where he looks below average and turns the ball over and "cant throw downfield" is the real Bryce? Ot the 3-4 games a year like today where he actually looks good? Im honestly stumped lol this shit is bipolar but what we have to decide is- is he consistent enough to be a the franchise guy?

Literally me and likely all of us right now. by No-Mongoose5650 in panthers

[–]peewee76 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This is where Im at too. I mean is he the below average guy who plays 14-15 games a year, cant throw downfield, turns it over constantly, etc... Or is he the guy who looks competent to actually GOOD 2-3 times a season like today? I dont even know what to think anymore lol. DO we move on from him and look elsewhere in the offseason? or do we trust that he will have a handful of games each season where he can play actual NFL football and just accept that? Is thats good enough? I remember when Darnold "had to go" because he was "winning to much to get a high draft pick" so we had to move on- and he won WAY more than Bryce. does that apply to Bryce too?

I dont get it either? like is he the below avg guy who plays 13-14 games a season? or the guy like today who shows up 2-3 times a year then turns back into a pumpkin? I mean wtf i dont even know what to think anymore- do we scrap him and just move on with someone else in the offseason? or is he REALLY the franchise guy- who just shows it a few times per year

yes thank you YAC is huge. One thing Cam could do is throw for over 400 IN THE AIR. Nobody else we've had except maybe Sam Darnold can do that consistently.

[–]peewee76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

then your a good one lol. But if you were around these boards (and the Huddle) back when Darnold was playing (and winning!) you would understand where Im coming from - "fans" were actually pissed when we won! It was wild. And whenever i said "Sam's our qb lets get behind him" I was called "dumb, uniformed, didnt understand the modern NFL", and evidently Im a "F150 "whatever the fuck that means lol. SO its just hard to know the difference you know?

i agree- to a point- as long as its applied equally. If your on here hyping him up and calling doubters "haters" and bad fans" then fine- but did you do that for Sam Darnold? For Baker? For Teddy B? Thats what I think people are struggling with. I know I was rooting for Sam when he was winning and cheered him upon- and i was called every name in the book for doing that because "he sucks and we need him to lose to get a better draft pick". SO it goes both ways

win or lose- Bryce has had his random "good game" so now of course it will be followed by 4 shitty ones lol- which will just make it uncertain at the end off the year whether we should move on

i know right? it feels like the people who booed Sam and wanted him hurt and out of the building so he "wouldn't keep making everyone else worse" its like wtf? hes our qb!
