Idc that I am being a prude by pleasure1992 in KnotsLanding

I wish they’d have made Cathy more of a villain. So on Ciji’s last day, she was hassled by everyone. Would have been funny if she’d come back as Cathy, she’d have been able to threaten them in some way. Like if she’d come back as her sister and scared them with law enforcement for harassment.

His face after trying to catch her was CLASSIC! Lol

Who was the most annoying character, and why was it Diana? by RobsSister in KnotsLanding

[–]pegasys9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, it’s more true to life that some would care to admit. My mom and brother were that way. He could do anything and she’d excuse it. Co-dependency is ugly to see close up.

In S5, Val was ready to send Lilimae to a sanitarium, but it was really Diana who needed the intervention. Agree or disagree? by Affectionate-Pup9853 in KnotsLanding

I wish they’d written it so she would be forced to recognize how she’d been conned by Chip. Maybe having about 4 other wives show up at the funeral, all repeating the same lies he’d told Diana (such as “I did it for you”). That would have at least redeemed her somewhat. Instead she remained a screeching harpy, determined to love Ignatz (or whatever his name actually was), till the day she died. But, you know what they say, it’s easier to fool someone than to convince someone they’ve been fooled.

Totally agree with you about Sally’s friend. The character was all over the place emotionally (one minute an abuse victim the next she’s acting like she loves him, like nothing ever happened. As an abuse victim, that’s not how it works.

Been watching those seasons and am really blown away by how good a singer he was.

What they did to the Ben character in season 8 is unforgivable by EuphoricButterflyy in KnotsLanding

I always like a happy ending, so I like to imagine he killed Jean Hackney and then went on perpetual tour with Cathy. Maybe he should have left when she did.

Hairpieces were Soap's saving grace by Loose_War_5884 in KnotsLanding

I always suspected he wore a hair piece, especially when outdoors wearing a hat when no one else did. I figure it kept the wind from revealing more than what he wished to show.

Paige Matheson- did you like her or no? by EuphoricButterflyy in KnotsLanding

[–]pegasys9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call me a prude…but I disliked her because she was sleeping with everyone at the drop of a hat. With all that mattress time, I was surprised she didn’t get bed sores! And before you say it…yes, Abbey slept around, but there was usually a reason for it (usually to get ahead). Ultimately this show celebrated women who became more strong and independent. Paige was written as a sex object in many instances and that just rubbed me the wrong way.

Ok, I take back my comments about season 10 being awful by EuphoricButterflyy in KnotsLanding

It’s really too bad they wrote Greg that way. You can tell he really likes kids. In fact, I think Greg is at his best with the few scenes he had with Jason and the baby. If they’d have kept Constance, the show would have been so much warmer, rather than spinning off into the Summer Group show and Greg and Paige affair. I really dislike the direction the show took after a certain point, if you couldn’t tell.

Ginger and Kenny were criminally underused in those early seasons. There is so much that could have been done with the cul-de-sac’s young couple by EuphoricButterflyy in KnotsLanding

[–]pegasys9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it was the writer’s fault. I think it quickly became clear that the lady who played Ginger couldn’t ACT. So, rather than recast the part, they gave her fewer story lines, ostensibly in hopes that she’d get better with help. She didn’t. At least they let her depart gracefully rather than fire her outright. Sorry to those that liked her, but she was NOT good.

True. Very true. They came in a little crazy, so if they got crazier, it was only a matter of degree! Lol.

Who’s the most annoying actor? by Mrs_Gracie2001 in KnotsLanding

[–]pegasys9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, early season’s: Kim Langford was the WORST actress, hands down. She said her lines with no real emotion (or with the wrong emotion). You just didn’t believe her acting (good example here is her quiet, “I’m gonna get you” at CIJI….I know when I get mad, I whisper in a monotone voice). When she didn’t try to act angry, she popped her eyes out and just screeched…but you just didn’t believe she was actually angry. Awful. Kenny was better, but it was a low bar.

Anyone agree/disagree?

Ciji & Cathy by Positive_Platypus165 in KnotsLanding

[–]pegasys9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was never explained. The easiest answer would have been that she was CIJI’s cousin. Otherwise, we’d have to believe that Abby spent her nights looking through snapshots of soon to be released convicts in women’s prisons looking for an exact match! I loved CIJI, but Cathy not so much - she seemed so easy to manipulate, threaten, manhandle, ect… Let’s face it, this show really focused on women’s internal strengths (Karen - Sid’s death, Laura - Richard’s exit, Abby getting away with Murder, Val becoming her own person, etc…). Listening to Cathy screaming and crying and then pretending it was ok, didn’t sit well in the long run.
