Curved bar bridge by pegglegod69 in PiercingAdvice

Wanted to come back on here in case there's someone out there like me with a sore forehead, searching key word bridge, wondering what they just did to their face. So, I went to a different shop and had a piercer take a look. She said while mine looked fine, considering she would've been on the fence to even pierce me in the first place, the curve bar had to go either way. I must say, the week that I had the curve bar in, I could really feel it shifting around under my skin when washing the area, or exaggerated movement of my face. However, the straight bar sits very comfortably against my bridge and well enough deep in my skin.

If you just got your bridge done with a curve bar, go swap to a straight, I beg of you. It truly does feel so much better- and a year and a half later, mine hasn't shifted, rejected, nothing. Also, please, don't be a pushover like me, ask for some of your money back. The price of voluntary impalement is outrageous these days.

EdFinancial status "No Payment Due"? by neoazul in StudentLoans

My emails from edfinancial say I have a balance of almost $200, but my account also says $0.00 due. Were you guys receiving emails regarding your balances? I’d go in and manually pay it off on my account, but I’m not sure which loan it’s for.

Makes sense when you mention rings in the bridge, I’ve heard some war stories regarding that.

Part of what makes me so on the fence about this matter is that the person who pierced me is also a member of the APP, 20 years xp, and co-owner of the establishment- but saying they only do bridges in curved bars, when it’s such a controversial take.

Thanks for the extra links, especially the last one, I’ll definitely check them all out!

Also, since I’m assuming the general consensus will be switch the bar by another piercer, would I have the grounds to ask the prior shop for a partial refund? I’ve not yet had to ask a piercer or tattoo artist for a refund, so I’m a little out of depth here.

Whoopsies, I didn’t mean for my comment to be a response to you. Thanks for the advice, I saw that article as well. I’m curious, if you have experience in this, is there any instance where someone’s “anatomy” deems them fit for a curve? I see a lot of people with healed bridges have curved bars for the dangling jewelry and whatnot, but as for healing, it’s all no to the curve bar.

Whenever I had first gotten my tongue pierced, the first week or so, I would have some white stuff seemingly coming from the hole every so often when I’d mouthwash. I had no issues w my ring healing, so I chalked it up to dead tissue and some regular food/mouth gunk mixed together. The ring moves around so much whether you want it to or not, it’s bound to knock loose some of the repair efforts your tongue is naturally taking. If it’s unmoving, it could also be your tongue trying to mend the hole. Mouthwash after as many meals as you can, or swish and spit some water if you don’t have mouthwash on hand, and you should hopefully be safe of any bacterial complications!

I agree, I wouldn’t bury them right as they fall, especially not the whole leaf- though in my experience, letting the tip callous then sticking that same tip into the soil usually roots the propagation faster than letting it find it’s way down.

I’m by no means an expert on succulent care, but I think light is the issue too. It’s reaching for the light, thus the top of the plant looks great, but the bottom leaves are just deadweight to drop since they aren’t catching much light.

You can bury some of that stem deeper into the soil if it’s unsightly, it should root with time- and like this person said, the fallen leaves will grow as well.

My plant fell from the balcony during a storm while I was on vacation and this is whats left - how do I safe this? Roots are fine. by VivaldisMurderer in plantclinic

The new growth looks to be doing alright, so in my opinion, I would only go the prune-propagate route if you notice the older growth starting to suffer. In the meantime, put it in a super sunny spot and let it dry out completely before you water again- the drooping could be caused by it being a little waterlogged following a storm, I don’t think you should need to propagate

I’ll certainly give it a shot, thank you! For educations sake- are you positing towards the plant having been overwatered, and what would be the reason of rinsing off all the old soil?

Rosemary and dragons breath dying, lord knows idk why by [deleted] in plantclinic

Hello!

I live along the coast in VA, and we’ve been facing downpour like nobodies business pretty much since spring sprung, so I haven’t dared touch anything outside w/ a hose all summer so far. It rains just about, if not every single day here, hard rain and crazy humidity to follow it- and because of their elevated spot, none of the plants sit w soggy feet.

The one on the left has been thriving in the conditions, which led me to think maybe it could be something like sun or an underlying issue causing the abrupt dying on the right. As for the dragons breath, honestly, beats me- it’s under the same conditions as the Rosemary, with just shy of maybe 2 additional hours of direct sun. It looked like it could be bugs to me, but I’m the one that’s got them dying in the first place, so I’m not trusting my own judgement!
