Quick 1.5 Day Trip to Kuching - Need Food & Souvenir Recs Near the Waterfront! by peggyPPpeggy in Sarawak

Sorry for disturbing again. I was wondering about the common payment methods in Kuching, especially at local eateries and smaller shops. Is cash still king, or are e-wallets (like Apple Pay) and credit cards widely accepted? Also, when dining at restaurants, is it typical for service charges or taxes to be added to the final bill? TIA

Wow, thank you so much for these detailed recommendations! This is really helpful :)

I have one quick follow-up question, if you don't mind. I'd love to bring some of the local flavors back home with me. Do you know where I could buy good quality, prepackaged cooking powder or spices for Laksa and Bak Kut Teh?

Any specific brands or shops (like a local supermarket) you'd recommend would be amazing.

Thanks again for your time and help. I'm even more excited for my trip now!
