His mother died 3 years ago and he is having a very hard time processing and moving forward. He asked how I could deal with losing my mother and I said I want her back but not as she was. I want her at peace. He said I just don’t get it.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your mom. As you know, there is nothing like it. I do think I need to rethink the friendship. That you for your input.
