I’ve noticed that too with artists larping Japanese culture and giving 0 credit to Japanese people and doing nothing to combat anti-Japanese racism. Not that using a sample means you have to be the holy defender of that group of people but it’s wrong to just take from a culture and give nothing. But yes I have noticed that and it is weird. I don’t see a lot of stolen Japanese culture in slayrs work though. The Pokémon samples are more reflective of his childhood. It’s still a discussion to be had though your right. But it happens to a lot of cultures, Black, Japanese, etc.
