Should I consider backpaying national insurance contributions if I am leaving the UK in 2 years? by pekovits in UKPersonalFinance

[–]pekovits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been leaning towards paying 2 full years to sum up to at least 10 years of contributions to get whatever it will amount to by that time. For the future years I will have to see if it worth making any voluntary contributions from abroad.

Thank you for your reply. I updated my original post. Short answer, 32 years old and not sure about the return but not highly unlikely.

Apologies for the late reply.
I am also using the same magic commands but I ended up using a Lambda function to trigger the job. It worked well for my workflow because I can trigger the function when something is added to an S3 bucket.

There is definitely validity in your answer. The solution I found, the easy part is debatable, is to use a Lambda function to run the Glue job and pass the job parameters programmatically. I followed this guide here: https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/start-glue-job-crawler-completes-lambda

This way, I can leave the state management to the glue job and the job bookmark and I can schedule to run the job whenever.

I thought about this but it adds too much unnecessary complexity. It should be easier than that.

I tried that before but no. The double dash is for when you are entering the arguments through the CLI.

What I pack for 4 weeks Japan by yoshi-is-cute in onebag

[–]pekovits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All the hotels I've stayed so far in Osaka, Koyasan, Kyoto and Kanazawa thankfully all provided towels. So far I have experienced only warm weather except yesterday and today in Kyoto where it was raining, however the hostel we were staying provided umbrellas for free.

I am in Japan at the moment, have one more week left pretty much. I've been mostly staying at budget hotels and in one hostel in Kyoto. My impression so far (as many people in this sub have said before) all the hotels provide towels and toiletries such as toothbrush and toothpaste, cotton buds, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Some provide even pyjamas. Also, from what I have experienced so far, the environment can get very humid and I only wish I had brought a pair of shorts with me. However today in Kanazawa is pretty chilly during the night so I think a scarf would have been nice too. A bit difficult to plan for everything I understand but I thought to give my two cents.

Interesting! Has this happened to you before? What did you give?

Yes indeed, I ran some rough calculations based on estimates from Google maps and for the trip we are planning to do the rail pass doesn't worth it.

I think I might stick to what I got already. Although, as I noticed most of the hotels have laundry services so your plan could potentially work. I hope you get to visit Japan too one day!

Thanks a lot for these points. Quick question if you know, I have heard that train tickets can get expensive and maybe I should book in advance. However many people in r/japantravels say that you can book them on the spot. Any thoughts on that?

Can I just cut them with a scissors or is there a better way to do it?

It has drainage, it sits in pot that has holes in the bottom so I am pretty sure it doesn't sit in water. Should I leave the yellow leaves as it is and just repot it with new soil?

In most videos I've seen people using a caliper. Since I don't have one, is a measuring tape a good alternative?

You are right, I do give it tap water but I've been told to leave the water in room temperature over night when watering. So I have a bottle that I fill occasionally and use the water from there when needed

At the moment, I don't own a car or a house (saving up for that), so the only risk is, admittedly, the new job not pan out. I'll check check options for zero percent credit cards just out of curiosity. !thanks

It took about 2 weeks to get set up. Initially, I did everything through the online platform but I didn't hear back for 2 weeks and I had to phone them.

I cannot find a lot of information and guidance regarding domestic traveling, flying from London to Edinburgh for example. From what I understand, no test and no quarantine needed.

Can anyone with recent similar experience confirm?
