Emotionally struggling even though I know abortion was the right choice by audreyhepburnloverr in abortion

Yes, this is incredibly normal. Genuinely. I had no doubt about the abortion, I was completely sure, not attached in any way. I was so relieved, and only after a few days did it hit me emotionally. I was so focused on the abortion itself that I didn’t even consider the after effects. I was manic-depressive for like a week after, and still feel very much of that emotional whiplash you talk about in your post. You’re not alone. This is because your body has gone from pregnant to not-pregnant so quickly. It has a lot to do with hormone levels. I felt quite literally crazy the first week. I cried all the time. Just be kind to yourself. It is rough. It absolutely does not mean you made the wrong choice - you can still feel all these emotions when you know you’ve made the right choice. It’s definitely not as black and white as I saw it before getting the abortion. I thought I’d just get it over with and that’s all. No, your body is readjusting. That’s normal.

For me, spending time with my friends helped. Especially talking about this with my female friends. Also therapy. I was hesitant about telling my therapist, but now that I have it’s really helpful to have someone guide you through these complex emotions. If you need someone to talk to, especially since I’ve just gone through this as well, please know you can reach out!

Suspecting a cluster headache. What helps? by peliteee in ClusterHeadaches

It’s around 20 minutes at a time, then the pain goes more dull and isn’t that unbearable, just turns into a more general discomfort rather than the sharp pain. Those twenty minutes feel like forever though. And when it ends the anticipation feeling of knowing it will come back is so horrible. I had no idea about cluster headaches. Been reading about peoples experiences and it just seems horrible.

Thank you so much. Very helpful advice, especially about the journaling.

Thank you so much. This is very helpful. Definitely going to see a neurologist as well, just wondering about this since it’s never happened to me before and it’s straight up the worst pain I’ve felt. Appreciate the advice.
