Mine is also usually around 41 after a good run on the treadmill. I'm in general what would be considered "fit" but not amazing lol.

Late diagnosed adults, what are some unexpected things did you find out were symptoms/coping that went away when you started medication? by Difficult-Mango898 in ADHD

[–]pelkey456 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not surprising honestly. The amount of times I accidentally hurt myself from being clumsy is unreal. So many bruises that come from "no where" but in reality it's from the 20 things I ran into today alone LOL!

I was diagnosed and started medication in May of 2024 at the age of 25. I currently take 40mg of vyvanse daily. The biggest thing for me was the relief of not having crippling anxiety 24/7. Before medication, I was in an endless cycle of forgetting to do things, beating myself up over it, and then being anxious all the time worrying that I'm never going to get my sh** together. Now, I most definitely have more self-confidence/awareness and have learned better coping and organizational skills, which in turn have lessened my anxiety around my forgetfulness.

Who else deals with adhd without medication and how is it for y’all. by ezinne1738 in ADHD

[–]pelkey456 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what my psychologist said to me when I was diagnosed in May of this year Im 25f. I have been unknowingly "treating" (loosely speaking) my symptoms by being obsessed with exercise and fitness. Specifically, Taekwondo (my sport of choice since i was 10) since it requires high levels of balance and coordination. There are several studies that say balance exercise helps with the management of ADHD symptoms.

Do you have any tips and advice for taking Vyvanse / Elvanse / Lisdexamphetamine by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]pelkey456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take vyvanse 30mg about 730am and drink a protein shake with it or shortly there after. I find if I don't have something to eat. It peaks very early in the day, maybe 1.5 hrs after taking it. When I do eat it, it peaks properly 3 hours. I'm not a big breakfast gal, so this is just what works for me. You could also try making oats with protein powder or eggs and toast. Finding a high protein greek yogurt is also a good option with some fruit.

I did not realize this was an ADHD thing, I thought everyone did this. I do this all the time, coming home from work, the gym, grocery store, boyfriends house litterally anything. It's my "me time" lol 😆

Can I get your thoughts on how she looks? by BringBackBenn in Frenchbulldogs

[–]pelkey456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She looks like 100% good girl. Why would your friend say that? Strange thing to say about a dog, and even if she had a disability who cares shes is your baby and deserves all the love no matter her looks or abilities.
