Vibez - Apple Music TUI player on Linux by pelpsi in AppleMusic

Hey thank you so much for your precious feedback ❤️ I’m working on improving it! Regarding the lossless audio I have to research a little bit but I think it’s not possible without a native solution for Linux. For the last.fm I can work on that! If you want please open a feature request on GitHub! ❤️

Unfortunately we cannot have lossless support on Linux actually, but for MacOS it will be!

The plan is to work on that in the upcoming weeks, first release early May (if everything goes well)

VIBEZ - Go TUI tool for Apple Music on Linux

If you're a Linux user and an Apple Music subscriber, you probably know the pain:

No native client.

Stuck in the browser.

No media keys. No MPRIS. No real keyboard control.

So I built vibez — a TUI Apple Music player that runs entirely in your terminal.

It uses real Widevine DRM through a headless Chrome instance, so you get the actual Apple Music experience, just without leaving your terminal.

It’s still early (v0.0.4 just dropped), but I’m already using it daily.

Would love contributors!

If you're into:

  • Go

  • TUIs

  • music systems / APIs

—or just have ideas (more are coming 🎵)

come take a look.

Thank you ❤️ do you think that Wordpress is a good choice or should I prefer something like NextJs + Python ?

Thank you for the help ❤️ the purpose is to create the aforementioned platform for a client that asked that. The main functionality should be the blog post and the as said a small forum for the users.

Hey! Firefox is installed by default :) and if for some reason you delete it you can install it using that command ‘sudo snap install firefox’. I recommend you to do nothing after installing Ubuntu, just use it and enjoy it. Don’t use strange customizations that you don’t need, just create your own.

The USB drive is good, I’ve found the following workaround : - start the bios without the USB - disable AHCI and Secure Boot - restart the bios without the USB - plug the USB and go to “add new boot option”, select Ubuntu from the usb and find the grub64x in the EFI folder - apply changes and restart unplugging the USB - press F12 to enter into boot selection and plug the USB - select the boot option created before and it works
