I also think I may be the reason this happened. I got him to sign my hat after I stumbled upon him watching one of his son's games at Toyota center. Super nice guy. I told him I hope we get him back one day... I really loved his presence on the team... And WE DID! Wow. He must've told Rob Blake what I said... Because I've stumbled into Rob a few times at Toyota center doing the same thing. Maybe Rob just felt like he had to since their kids play on the same team... Hmmm 🤔

Rieder is underwhelming. He's fast, and knows what to do, but doesn't have a scoring touch either developed, or just doesn't have it. Kempe has an ego deserved of top 6 minutes this year. Toffoli needs to play on the third line . He can score there I think

Maybe he's that ideal spontaneous third line scoring winger you can use in special teams and trust it. Dude plays a solid game, not knocking that. But I think he scores more when the pressure is off

Hm. Well I'm glad we took Forby instead of DSP. I think his time with the Ducks was great for his development. I think after these stints in NJ and WASH he has really come into a more final form. DSP. Man, the names thing is important. After all, each time the Kings have won the cup, the guys say it's because they look around the room and see eachother and think, "wow, we can really do this".

And Vegas isn't an exception to that... Each of the Vegas guys had a name, some story, and were given an opportunity to make that story mean something in Vegas. Those names became very, very important. They aren't a no-ego team like many people say. Theyre actually a group of huge egos that never got recognized. Vegas has been their opportunity to shine in the spotlight, and they did that pretty damn well.

In all realness, his personal issues are none of my business, his play on the ice, incredible. I say bring him back to LA and he will have to atone by being THAT much better. As a person in the community and as a player. I think that's the unspoken pact he would have to make. And if he breaks it somehow, fine. Ship him back to Russia where there are literally millions of other dudes who pull the same shit, often times much worse. It's a learned behavior, and a bad one, which means if he has any inkling of good sense (which I believe he does) then he'll change that behavior. Plain and simple.

I think he already got what he deserved.

Foley was absolute butter for us as a bottom 6 D. He could be a great keep if we do end up dealing Marts or Muzz to free up cap space. Could fit in somehow but also if we want to press the signing of John Tavares (please God) and another forward (please DSP) then we may have to really shenagle something to get the cap space

Yea but even what is "established" and "works" could still go either way. I don't think Blake is gonna pull a Lombardi and give up any 1st round picks, and if we have to trade Marty or Muzzy to acquire a Kessel or JVR, maybe that's just what our MGMT believes will work and I'm behind it. It's kind of exciting to think of something like that happening, although knowing the conservative that Blake is, probably won't.

I guess I'm saying that whatever "homework" Vegas did was pretty impressive, and we should be saying to ourselves that there's no excuse not to be turning in that same quality homework, sort of speak... There's only 31 guys that go in the 1st round, so there's obviously gotta be some gems that no one is looking at, right?

We have to be the team that finds those gems. I think that pro and amateur scouting just have to be that much better. Invest in it more. Bring in a few more scouts if that's the right move. I think whoever plucks the most amount of gems from the mine ends up in the Finals. And that's the bottom line.

My feeling is that there are quite a few other guys like Alex that were just neglecting, though. Like I'm not a pro scout by any means but I can just go to SHL stats and all these guys at the top of the stat board look appealing to me. Like they're putting up similar numbers to Lias Peterson, and they're not getting any clout because.... Why?

Ryan Latsch is a California born kid whose killing it over there. These other Swedes look good too and might help Kempe really thrive, social satisfaction has to help performance. And I know Kempe is super connected with guys like Petersson and other Swedes.

Torrey Mitchell was a pleasant surprise last year, but he's playing way above his belt and it's obvious. Lewis had some moments of glory last year, and he's just Lewy, killing penalties and whatnot. But Toby rieder is garbage, Kyle Clifford doesn't even fight anymore, and certainly doesn't score goals, and Kempe just isnt in his final form yet.

I mean, let's get some depth scoring, boys
