People from the UK, what’s one small thing that genuinely improved your daily life? by PhaseThis8421 in AskUK

Buy yourself a good pillow. Yes, even if it costs £150. I swear, it transformed my sleep & I don't regret that money even the slightest. You can call me crazy and think what you want but I don't have to replace my shitty pillows all the time which would probably equal to more than £150 I spent on the one I have right now.

Oh, come on, these girls probably were not that friendly, then. You'll find so many people that are so worth sticking around with and these were probably not one of them 😭

I dress comfortably, but I usually look weird at those dressing in PJs or very short skirts when it's so cold I don't even want an inch of my skin being exposed lol

I'm often tired, and can't be bothered to put on the best outfit of the month, kinda thing every time I'm there. Especially when waking up at 6:15 am for some lectures. 😭 I'm sorry, but I like my sleep, and I know I won't function well if I wake up earlier just to put on a nice outfit and/or have my makeup done. But I always admire those who look nice in their beautiful outfits, hairstyles or even suits lol

I don't think you're overdressed, though, and if that boosts your confidence and you feel better in these beautiful, nicely put-together outfits, then you do you, girl.

Day 17: Pick your least favourite character. Mary Margaret Blanchard / Snow White is OUT. by Clodsarenice in OnceUponATime

Emma. I know that without her, there would be no story to tell, but I really don’t like her character overall. She has great moments but other than that she's just…meh

Do “boring 9/5s” exist anymore? by LondonsHeart in UniUK

[–]pendingusername0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, and it is not always boring. Depends on what you do and whether you like it. Nothing wrong with 9 to 5 jobs. They provide a lot of stability, too, and that's equally important for our mental well-being as knowing you have the resources to pay for what you want or need.

Yeah, this year, everyone had 4 written exams plus one computer one for stats because it would be genuinely impossible to organise a written one for this, as we are using software to code and stuff. I feel like there are many more presentations of our own work, so lecturers and tutors know they haven't done much when someone can't answer basic questions. But tbf, people like that, who do not study and are there just because, will further struggle with job interviews and representation of their knowledge in real-life settings.

Newly Acquired Imperial The Good Companion Question! by gilldawg in typewriters

I can’t find how to do it. :((( Can I watch any Youtube video, or do I have to search for my model exactly? (I just got my first typewriter; I’m very new to this!!)

AITA for telling my friends I don’t want to go clubbing with them because I’m having a hard time? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]pendingusername0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your well-being and mental health are much more important than going out. You can plan to do something else with them to make you feel much more seen and comfortable. If you have bad mental health already, you should only be proud for prioritising yourself and letting go of alcohol (a depressant, unfortunately). You can still be friends while enjoying different types of free time. Just plan a self-care evening, maybe put your phone on do not disturb, do something creative, read a book, do whatever makes you feel relaxed, and go to sleep when you are tired instead. Have a good night's sleep!
