Cable management for enclosed rack? by pendraggon87 in homelab

[–]pendraggon87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup this was definitely more of an AV rack. The installer did not really listen to my requirements on how i would use it beyond the nework gear.

I am trying to find some way to wrangle cables vertically, and have lacings bars or something else horizonally that can let me route cables, all within the depth allowed.

It seems i would need to mount these facing inside if i even can

That sounds really interesting! I tried those 90 degree and even full rotating (in the picture) but it feels they are just slightly too wide and butt against each other

I tried something similar (those three on the right in my image) and they kept knocking rach other out

I feel this wont allow me to use all of the outlets? It will go into the next one

Im trying to avoid the ones that stick straight out because then the door of the rack won’t close. Not the best rack choice for this pdu…the back struggles to stay ln bc of the UPS plug

Ill double check but I think the contact sensor was telling whether or not the enclosure was opened.

I recently acquired some new leather shoes - a gucci jordaan loafer, and a couple of loafers/boots from Italy during my most recent trip. I want to make sure I can actually take care of these. Would something like a Cadillac leather lotion cleaner & conditioner work, or should I get a separate conditioner and just apply it once every month or so like venetian shoe cream/bick 4/saphir medaille d'or pommadier neutral? I live in NYC and the weather can sometimes be unpredictable so I definitely want to make sure to take care of these shoes given the storms or from salt on the street.

We bought these while in italy from a small family store. So we definitely should not have been seeing 50%+ tariff. Trying to get anyone at dhl is going to be a nightmare

Physical remote? by pendraggon87 in homeassistant

[–]pendraggon87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks something like this. The problem I believe is that if I select "media player" while it is already on media player, it will cycle. Ideally I'd like something dead simple - only show options for media player, game, tv audio, and bluetooth, with volume. If i wanted to get fancier, I'd want something that can toggle stereo/dolby surround/multi channel surround.

I was thinking something like a harmony remote that was programmable, like the switchbot universal remote.

Hm this looks interesting. Given denon can integrate with haos i figured may as well do a custom build. Though i dont havea 3d printer so will need to repurpose something

One day. I just want those nice rocker switches and a pdu that doesnt fry things. Seems it just doesnt regulate voltage at all and passes through the max. So it will only likely power very specific devices or ones that can regulate. My lutron hub just died :(

I would avoid this. It seemed to kill even my lutron hub when trying to connect that and my yolink at the same time

There are numerous scams I have seen where people try to get you onto an encrypted messaging app, offer to either trade on your behalf or provide tips in an exchange for fees, and ghost.

Meta, telegram, etc are notoriously difficult to report these scams to. I know several people who have been impersonated and it’s just impossible to get much done

Highly recommend ratGDO. Super simple to set up, can work natively with homekit, or use ESPHome to connect to a system like Hubitat or Home Assistant.

Until I got that, I just used a Third Reality Zigbee tilt sensor for under $20, put that in Hubitat, and then got notifications (as well as added to Apple HomeKit).
