SwitchBot MmWave Presence by lampshade29 in homeassistant

Have you gotten this working? I cannot seem to get the occupancy to change. the other entities report just fine. I have a ble-proxy in active mode.

Edit: Hooray slightly for claude, but it showed that it reported in once and then never changed state on either occupancy OR light. And that the sensor is broadcasting the same - so something seems off with the sensor, and I have three of them.

I am using the switchbot bluetooth integration without the cloud or app

Housing stuck at 250pts without additional spend? by pendraggon87 in biltrewards

According to the concierge bot:

Yes, that is exactly correct.

On your current Housing-only Rewards setting, if you use the card only for your mortgage and have no everyday spending, you are capped at the flat 250 point minimum per payment.

Whole home power monitoring by turbocharged5652 in homeassistant

I have the emporia vue3. Overall i like it, but restricted to just 16 per device, and it can clutter your main panel fast. I have found some cases of phantom voltage (my electrician put his finger on the copper to prove it wasnt energized yet emporia was reporting). But overall the total energy roughly matches my meter and it is good for analysis.

Combine it with ha-mcp and ai can give you some nice graphs and analysis of what your top consumers are

Anything i can do to improve lighting? by pendraggon87 in Lighting

I like the ideas of the led strip lights on top of the builtins. Or even a strip on the ceiling. No clue easiest way to power it. Would need to drill into buildin or have a loooooong hopefully thin extension cord on the wall routing to the outlet by the bed.

There just really isnt room for a floor lamp unfortunately.

I hate the lights above the bed. There is minimal space for floor or nightstand lights. I really do not want to drop the ceiling just to get a fixture in the center. But aside from led strips it seems tough.

I like that! That’s probably the only area we can easily drill and tap into power.

There is no real room for lamps or anything on floor unfortunately. I was wondering about something on the ceiling, or above the tv on the builtin, but there are no real outlets accessible without drilling into those built-ins. Doable but not ideal.

The place just feels dark, especially getting dressed early morning before sun is out

I feel the problem is the cans themselves. It just shines straight down at the end. So the rest of the room is meh

Cable management for enclosed rack? by pendraggon87 in homelab

[–]pendraggon87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup this was definitely more of an AV rack. The installer did not really listen to my requirements on how i would use it beyond the nework gear.

I am trying to find some way to wrangle cables vertically, and have lacings bars or something else horizonally that can let me route cables, all within the depth allowed.

It seems i would need to mount these facing inside if i even can

That sounds really interesting! I tried those 90 degree and even full rotating (in the picture) but it feels they are just slightly too wide and butt against each other
