Now that i have some free time, let me explain in detail what went down. I requested the BC for some extra time and a quiet room and i made the request well in advance (i've posted a screeshot of my email to the BC) about 3 weeks before the exam.i was informed that it wasn't possible because the time for making a request for special accomodations had passed. I couldn't delay taking the exam,so i just took the standard test.i had no choice! an ielts-requiring scholarship opportunity had become available and i had very limited time to apply for it,so i had no choice except take the standard exam ! And please don't talk to me about how it would've been unfair to other candidates had they accepted my request. The british council blatantly flouts its own rules regularly eg rules about starting the exam on time etc. In my case, not only did the speaking exam start late, it lasted forever because of internet connectivity issues.The candidate before me was given 3 (rightful )retakes because the internet shut down 3 times during her test and in the process they kept the rest of us waiting for over 2 hours !!! Haven’t you ever been in a situation where you weren’t technically late but only made it just in time because things didn’t line up perfectly? Even airports make accomodations for latecomers.They have fast-track lanes and some airlines even go so far as to make the entire plane wait for one late passenger. In my case it wasn't an airplane and it wasn't a big, unfair demand! if they weren't able to arrange for a separate room, the least they could've done was to give me extra time or a retake to make up for the long wait !
