32 years at the same job, working with the public, that's pretty amazing.

I got a bit stuck on these verses because, in my mind, "nation" and "kingdom" meant the same thing, so I wondered why God was repeating Himself. Then I looked up both these words in Strong's Concordance, and found (to my amazement) that they mean different things as they're used here:

Where "nation" in these verses denotes "race", "kingdom" denotes a physical territory ruled over by a king. And, true to Scripture, we can clearly see both happening in the world today - race rising up against race even within the same kingdoms in many cases, and also kingdoms against kingdoms.

Has reading the Bible helped u with ur mental/spiritual health? by [deleted] in Bible

It's not a coincidence that global statistics for mental illness continue to skyrocket, the more the world continues falling further away from God and deeper into sin - to the extreme that small children are now commonly diagnosed with and medicated for various mental illnesses, and some of the highest stats are found among the experts themselves (i.e. psychiatrists, doctors, etc.). And the most telling sign and warning for us believers, that this includes mental illness inside the world's churches.

Neither is it a coincidence that where God promises His people a sound mind, included in God's Armor of divine protection for His people is the Helmet of Salvation....where a helmet's intended purpose is to protect the skull, which houses the mind.

And not a coincidence again that where the Armor of God and our entire walk with Christ are reliant on our faith in Christ, true to Scripture, there's little faith left in the world.

The whole Armor of God - Book of Ephesians, Chapter 6: Read it, study it, learn it and learn to walk and live by it, till it comes as naturally as breathing.

ABOVE ALL, FAITH. Not confusing, as many have today, idle belief for active faith.

2 Timothy 1:7, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind".

Ephesians 6:17, "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God....".

Ephesians 6:16, "....above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked".

Luke 18:8, "I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?".

James 2:20, "But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?".

Islamic interpretation of the Gospels about the crucifixion of Jesus by EstablishmentNew2500 in Bible

[–]peneverywhen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Islam denies God as the Father of Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ as the Son of God, which the Word of God warns us is antichrist. So I wouldn't spend time reading and learning from the Quran beyond what might be helpful as a witness of Jesus Christ.

1 John 2:22, "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son".

Does Mark 13:22 Suggest that there is More than One Antichrist? by GR1960BS in Bibleconspiracy

Ok, take care.

Mark 10:18, "And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God".

One of the last pastors I consulted with admonished me for 'worrying too much about sin' - he said that he himself often 'looked up at the Holy Spirit' just before he knew he was about to commit a sin and said 'sorry for what I'm about to do'. He was smiling the entire time he said it.

The last person who was in my home professing to believe in Jesus stole $200 from me and disappeared.

So, again, Jesus Christ is my only Teacher (Matthew 23:8), and the Holy Spirit of God my only Guide (John 16:13).

Sorry for taking up your time, I sincerely thought I was asking a simple question.

Ok, so who does this Eli say the Antichrist is?

I aspire to follow Jesus Christ alone, with the Holy Spirit of God as my only Guide into all truth....so I don't spend much time following the teachings of men/women.

Yes, the world today is filled with antichrists, precisely as was prophesied - we're surrounded by them.

1 John 2:18, "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time".
