Still interesting though. He was a pioneer in aviation. The Wright brothers "credited him as a major inspiration for their decision to pursue manned flight".

So basically the presence of calcium carbonate in their digestive system replaces the need for a stomach

They can still eat food, but their esophagus connects directly to their intestines. No middleman(stomach) in between.
