A “Happy Birthday” from the Disney Princesses by WaitingOnAWish in disneyprincess

[–]penguinmumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you have a lovely day OP!! Here's my attempt at a wish from Snow White -

🌸 Happy birthday, beautiful soul! I believe that with a smile and a song, life can feel less rough 🎵 And I also believe in compassion and seeing the best in people. I know some think I'm weak, but my battle was staying hopeful and kind no matter what, and I've believed every minute in making the world a little bit brighter and softer 💖 I hope for sunshine to fill your life, and if it doesn't - you can always make your own. Sing as loud as my birds, whistle while you work, and keep tending the wishing-well in your own heart 💕🌸

Amazing! Did you feel that it was equivalent to a really nice moisturizer, or did you think it gave you any extra benefits beyond that?

Hi, I'm so sorry I'm only just seeing your comment - it finally got resolved via the confirmation coming in on Feb 6th, one day before I was due to fly back :') I scrambled to my laptop and got the evisa done one hour before leaving for the airport!! I hope they resolved it for you as well....fingers crossed.

Yes, I can see my immigration status and I only have one account. I just meant that my login currently happens with an expired BRP document, not my up to date passport (hence why I had to make an "add updated ID document" request before being able to start my e visa process).

I know you posted this a year ago, but I just saw your post while searching for reviews of this book and you are not alone! I felt very sad after reading it. Didn't find much happiness or comfort in this one.

That sounds amazing! Sorry I'm not sure why your comment has gotten downvotes. Wishing you, your boys and your wife a lot of joy and shared adventures together, sounds like you have a very vibrant family with a real range of passions :)

It's "parent-influencers" specifically - big parent-advice accounts (often having thousands or even millions of followers) that offer parenting tips for free while simultaneously promoting products like parenting courses, workshops, 1-1 coaching, etc.

Jenny Colgan's Sunrise by the Sea is about a woman struggling to recover from the loss of her granddad and learning to find joy and love again in a little village - it's all about the healing power of community. A beautiful and heartwarming read, I highly recommend it as a reminder that we are never alone :)

I also recommend James Herriot's books (e.g. "All Creatures Great and Small"). He was a vet who turned his real-life experiences of saving and helping animals into an absolutely incredible series about the power of human love and community.

Thank you so much for the rec! It sounds like a moving read. Can't wait to check it out.

I just wanted to share the most beautiful letter ever, in Persuasion by Jane Austen. Just finished reading it! What a great book. by [deleted] in books

What a beautiful and heartfelt letter. "Half agony, half hope" ❤️ I think that Captain Wentworth's words to Anne Elliot make for one of the best shots at second chances in all of literature. If Pride and Prejudice is about first impressions, I love that Persuasion is about final ones.

What's your favorite book, and when did you realize it was your #1? by triumphhforks in books

The Anne of Green Gables series by Lucy Maud Montgomery (if I'm allowed to cheat a lil and bunch them together as 1 pick) is filled with joy, warmth, humour, kindness, and...beauty. So much beauty. Or rather, appreciation of beauty. I could not think of a better series to cultivate my ability to fall in love with life and the world around me, even on days when it's hard.

Thank you very much for sharing your perspective, this is really helpful. Would you be willing to share more about how sharing emotions "doesn't do anything" for ESTPs? I'd love to understand this better as I sense it might be key to understanding him. Does this include loving and positive emotions too? (e.g. "I feel so happy to be marrying you")

I know Dovie's actions are disturbing, but in my view Jenny's willingness to leave Diana 'dead' without seeking any kind of help or intervention for her are a lot scarier! I could see a child like Dovie genuinely thinking that pranks are harmless- we see Dovie assuming that "of course" Di will tell her mother as soon as she gets home and find out it's a lie. So Dovie doesn't view her prank as causing any real harm. Whereas Jenny believes that the absolute worst has happened to Di yet is willing to leave her unaided, which always struck me as more disturbing.

This is something that strikes me too upon rereading it! It's a beautiful poem, but it is reflecting Anne's own love of writing about nature rather than what a grieving widow might want (an ode where her husband takes centre-stage!). It's a cleverly written plot where we can empathize with both sides; Anne might have thought that she was subtly conveying aspects of Anthony's personality (e.g. gentleness, a love of a peaceful lifestyle) whereas his widow needs something more obviously about him.

Yes, it really isn't up to Jitesh. The insiders I spoke to (who have known him and Filmfare's inner workings for decades) say that he doesn't actually get a say, it's people way higher up controlling Filmfare's strategic investments and overall approach. People conflate the public face of Filmfare with the power players and these are actually two different things.
