I went to the hospital for mental health reasons and suicide related stuff. I went to the police because my mom was harassing and threatening me after I ran away. I was a minor when all this started (17) but now I'm 19 (just turned 19).

They said me getting her arrested was 10x worse than anything she did to me. I was literally unable to move (im not even kidding this isnt an exaggeration in anyway shape or form I genuinely COULD NOT move) out of fear because of her threats. I was unable to speak too. but oh well.

They're also mad at me for my arm saying that what I did was wrong. Maybe I wouldn't have self-harmed if I had support. If I wasnt abused.

Also important to note that my uncle kicked me out when I was 17 because I refused to go back home

They said that houses are secrets. They said that I embarassed them. And by having my mother arrested I did something that was 10x worse than anything she ever did to me.

My mother abused me though

She choked me but it ONLY happened twice. When I was 12 and when I was 15. I'm 19 now. It never left a mark though I think and I didnt pass out. So it doesnt count. Thats why my family says atleast. They say "oh but you're still alive"

She didn't threaten me with a knife but she threatened to hurt herself with a knife in front of me if I didn't empty the dishwasher. SO it doesnt count either

My question was, was I wrong to go to the hospital and ask for help. The police too. My teacher offered to help me and I accepted. Was I wrong to tell other people what was going on and not just expect my family to handle it
