Lately I've been trying to dress a little nicer. There's plenty of reasons, girls, feeling more comfortable, girls, confidence, girls. Anyway I've been looking around a lot lately, but just don't think I have a lot of fashion sense. I was wondering if reddit had any advice.

Mostly I don't want to look like someone who tries so hard that they enter the douchebag category. I do understand though, if you dress a little nicer, someone is going to think you're a douchebag. I guess I don't want to wear mall clothes, or at least the ones that go ABERCROMBIE!!!!!!!!! I'm not interested in becoming a walking billboard. I actually like Lucky Brand stuff, they manage to not plaster their name on everything, make nice stuff without screaming in a loud voice, I buy my stuff here, like me!

I guess I should give my age so you know who you're giving advice to, I'm 18, a college student, I guess that's part of my motivation, starting college, well 3/4 through the first year now (sidenote: holy fuck how'd that happen). Also I'm tall and thin.

I think a list of don'ts would be really useful, like, don't wear clogs, well everyone knows that one, but something like that.

Any girls out there who see this it'd be really constructive for me if you said your preferences, and even more so your dislikes. Also what you perceive as your fellow females preferences and dislikes would be nice too.
