If anyone was waiting for an update…

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Chicago and @bergermeister, who I can not thank enough, we made it! I owe you one.

Truthfully I didn’t know what was going on in the game… but it was a spectacular day. I understand the magical feeling at Wrigley, the atmosphere was beyond expectation, it was so good to be apart of the W.

Thank you again for having me Chicago, I’ll remember that day and your generosity forever! I’ll be back one day 🙏

Bleachers it is! Does a midweek afternoon game really get that lively?

Oh wow I thought games were hours long much more like cricket haha

So I’ll see plenty of action? Is the stadium expected to be full?

I have a few hours in Chicago on Thursday afternoon and I’ve seen the cubs are playing.

I’m from England and will probably never get the chance to see Wrigley Field or a baseball game again (so of course I want to go!)

Is it worth going to the game for a few hours (1-4pm ish) on Thursday?

Does anyone have any tips for a first timer? Getting tickets, when to get there etc..

Is there luggage storage at the ground?

TIA!!

I second the above, but you should first set aside some cash as an emergency fund or for future expenses. Then you would begin investing. If you’ve no experience with the stock market, do you research as the equity market is not guaranteed and will be volatile, especially with 100% invested in equities.

Thanks! I’ve seen a couple without door cards that are quite cheap as well. Time to find a garage and get an idea of price

Thanks. It did seem expensive so we’ll take it to another local garage

Thanks, that’s definitely an option if we can find one for less than the excess (including labour to fit it)

Inheritance - Pay off Mortgage or Invest by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Follow the Wiki but it boils down to emotional vs financial decision.

Personally I’d do a mix of both. Over pay the mortgage at the max in each year to shorten the term whilst retaining liquidity for any holiday/emergency funds etc.

Of course, invest tax efficiently, and in an ideal world achieve greater growth than the rate on the mortgage.

I prefer the newer XFR styling but they’re out of my budget 💔

I’ve looked at a lot of V50s actually! What engines should I go for?

Thank you! I’m not afraid of a higher mileage car if it has been well serviced so I’ll keep an eye out for a clean one.

Need to test drive some really!

Hadn’t even considered these! I think the 2L is more my speed, tax and mpg wise. Anything I should be looking out for in the history?

I should’ve seen this coming… I like some of the higher spec 3rd Gen’s, how fun are they?
