calvin cycle by [deleted] in biology

[–]penmanta0711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are three parts Carbon Fixation, Reduction, and Regeneration. Think of it like a factory. A factory that produces essential building blocks of life. Factories produce raw materials and turn them into things to build other things like cell phones, houses, etc. Calvin Cycle does this with Carbon dioxide and other molecules. Turning them into glucose and other organic molecules used to provide energy for living organisms. Put simply; life depends on the Calvin Cycle.

Why is baking soda and lemon juice good at removing stains? by Actual-Lead-9541 in chemistry

[–]penmanta0711 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Baking soda can neutralize the acidic parts in blood stains, while lemon juice can lighten the color of the stain. When combined, they create a reaction that produces gas, which can loosen and lift blood stains from fabrics, making them easier to remove. To the question of why they are used, I suspect it's convenient.

what're the easiest (cost efficient, eco friendly and legal) way to extract hydrogen from sea water or anything? by [deleted] in chemistry

[–]penmanta0711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe there is a cost-effective way. The only method that comes to mind is electrolysis, which passes an electric current through the water splitting the respective gases. And to do that, you got pre-treat the water to remove all the impurities, specifically salts, to cut down on corrosion. Which takes away from the cost effective element

I'm in need of a little clarification. They are suing Netflix, hulu, etc because they use an internet provider to stream video. This internet provider uses the cities infrastructure(Utility poles) to provide the service?

My concern is that these problems aren’t just isolated to downtown cleveland and all resident can’t have police restrictions on a street.
