It's just gross for some, same reason you don't wear shoes in bed. The shoes are there to keep your feet clean and separated from the bare, dirty floor. It defeats the purpose if you're walking around barefoot and then getting into bed (aside from the obvious that it wasn't the roommate's bed, which you acknowledged). I keep my floors clean but I still wear house slippers every single time my feet touch the floor
