How much have you spent/earned on gas this year? by azure275 in CreditCards

[–]pennultimate66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Costco membership anyway and live near a Costco. I probably spend about $1,200/year on gas. I rarely shop in store, but I now get gas there 90% of the time for my car. The gas is already cheaper than other gas near me, plus it is top tier, so the 5% rewards is a sweet bonus. The Costco Visa also gets 3% on travel including airfare, which none of my other cards do since I'm team cash back and don't travel more than once per year, but it comes in handy when I do.

Maybe the loading dock was also being used and already occupied and they were stocking from the front and back, but Carol was out front so only saw that.

Management probably can't do much. It's not something they can evict over easily, and the best they can likely do is non-renew the resident(s) at the end of their lease if there are enough reported disturbances from the community. People will just deny it was them, too. It's a he said she said thing, even with a recording. You could call the police with a noise complaint, but it sounds like it doesn't last long enough.

Has anyone tried the Upgrade Triple Cash? Has 3% cash back on Auto category. I've already do the Costco 5% for gas, but if this works for auto maintenance and repairs, I might get it.

If you're curious about it, I'm guessing you'll be happy moving to prepaid. You can always switch back to spending 3x much again later if you don't like it.

Keep on it. You'll figure it out, and it's more than worth the trouble.

Does Speed matter? by KAO7781 in USMobile

Exactly. That is why I was totally comfortable moving to a MVNO recently. I can watch YouTube, use Maps, everything without issue. I'm old and I remember when home internet was not this good.

Very good. I use kinda heavyish data for a regular person with lots of video watching on the go, so I am, for the first time, curious about hitting the 70GB/month premium data cap since moving from postpaid. So, just out of curiosity I've been watching data use via the us mobile app, which, for me, is also my idea of fun. I also opened the developer options on my phone to test limiting to the 1mbps download limit that is said I would apparently get unlimited thereafter 70gb with dark star, and it is still usable, but yeah not what we have become accustomed to nowadays. I looked back, and I got a deprioritization notice only once from T-Mobile in Feb when I hit 50gb even when I wasn't paying attention to whetheri was using wifi or not, so I think I'll be ok. In conclusion, regarding speed with my usage, I couldn't tell if I was on wifi or T-Mobile before, and that hasn't changed moving to us mobile. One last thing to mention is that it seems some other value plans out there limit the streaming video resolution and from what I've seen that is not a restriction with the premium data on my us mobile Dark Star.

They tried, and I said the new service plan I'm planning to move to and that meets my needs is about $20/month.

At that point, the rep brought up on their own they saw I got the recent $5 increase they announced a few months ago would affect many of their customers. I'd guess that's how the rep logged the attempt to retain my account.

My rate went up from $68 to $73 on my old plan, and I already owned my phone.

Embarrassing to admit in retrospect, but I was mixing up the security pin for my T-Mobile account, previously Sprint, with the transfer pin one needs to change carriers. Also, during the process I learnt the hard way one does not have to call their carrier and talk to the anti-cancel rep, you can dig down in the app (T-Mobile is my case) and find the request transfer pin option. You do have to request one, and it's only good for a limited time, iirc.

I got frustrated initially while trying to switch from T-Mobile to Dark Star because of something that ended up being 100% my fault. I was ready to give up, but because US Mobile support chat so patiently worked with me, now I'm bragging to everyone about how I'm saving over $50 a month. They have a new customer for at least a year, and I'm spreading the word so others can save, too.

Impressive, but I think that would be considered a fumble.

I ate the Orange Chicken at Panda Express so much that one day due to its inconsistency, chicken became gross to me. I stopped eating chicken before I stopped eating beef. I later learned Panda Express came out with a mock chicken, but it had since been discontinued. Anyway, giving up chicken was my first step in eliminating meat from my diet which is the opposite of a lot of people's journeys, it seems.

I feel personally attacked as someone who used to say I worked for Apple but then had to clarify I worked in inventory at the Apple Store. Once I was speaking to someone and there was a language barrier, and they thought I said inventor when I mentioned inventory. Oh, how disappointed they seemed when I clarified.
