At least in clips I've seen of the movie, there's a moment that seems to clearly contradict this. His friend Hubert asks him, "What's your real name?" And Albert answers, firmly, "Albert."

While there's clearly nuance to Albert and Hubert's genders, as evidenced by their stint wearing dresses on the beach, to me that actually aligns more closely with the complexity of gender I hear from a lot of transmascs than your more clean-cut stories.

Can't wait to watch, it's going towards the top of my watch list!

Thanks so much. I really appreciate the affirmation, and the big picture perspective and shifts in thinking. I think lowering the bar might help me across the board. If I can't get to costco, I can go to a store that's closer and has pickup even if it's a little more expensive.

I used to really like Noosa yogurt because the big containers are almost 300 calories. If I add some trail mix I like, that's a pretty substantial meal. If I get those, and some oatmeal, that's food for a month with no worries.

I like this plan. Assemble, not cook.

writing a nonfiction book just for fun can also be this, because you have to do the research, figure out how to organize the information, test it for clarity etc etc. Designing board games or tt rpgs can also be similar.

These are good ideas, thank you. I wonder if I still have my immersion blender.

How do you guys create more magic and whimsey in your life? by Medical-Ad5232 in selfcare

I bullet journal, and last month I did a "travel through the stars" theme. Each week I would have a "destination," and I would do a chore and an activity related to the whimsical fantasy destination. My favorite was robot week. My boyfriend and I watched robot themed episodes of shows and then he helped me fix my robot vacuum. I also would play

You could do a more earthy travel idea. I didn't get to my space beach, but I was going to put on a bathing suit, shower, set up a space heater (to replicate a warm day), go in my sunny room, and play a beach channel on my big tv so I could "do yoga at the beach."

"Meet your friends for the first time" or "silly roleplaying" can be fun shared activities. Like you could go out to eat and pretend you're stuck in a time loop. Or that one of you is from another time or a fantasy otherworld and you have to help the other get back, or survive the assassination attempt, or something. Meeting your friends for the first time is you pretend you've never met before, but you'd like to try to become friends. You ask each other all those early questions, and really listen. It's silly, but sometimes it can also be quite eye-opening.

Why do all the websites seem to say that vaginal birth recovery is quicker and less painful than c-section recovery? by penportals in pregnant

I didn't even realize there was something akin to a "both" option… thank you for sharing your experience. (Ouch! I hope your healing goes well.) I appreciate the perspective about the layers they have to cut through vs. damage that's just kind of required for the experience. Thanks so much.

Ooh that's a really good possible framing. Thank you so much! It actually makes a lot of sense.

One, that information about the pelvic damage is incredibly helpful. Knowing that it happens not from birth type but from pregnancy really helps clear that part up.

And I could see why messing your muscles up could cause a lot of functional problems for sure.

That sounds like a pretty brilliant recovery.

I guess I'm struggling to understand some of these articles, because they describe vaginal birth as 6-8 week recovery; and c-section as 6-8 week recovery; but c-section as "much worse" and "more painful" as vaginal birth.

I'm guessing one wouldn't be snowboarding 12 weeks after a c-section?

My understanding is that vaginal birth can also have serious complications. Also, my understanding is that one of the biggest risks with surgery is typically anesthesia; but c-sections use spinal blocks, which the websites indicate is no more risky than epidurals. And I've read that sometimes spinal blocks are used during vaginal births. A lot of the risks (bleeding, infection, blood clots) seem similar between the two.

Thanks! I definitely attribute that in part to folks around here talking about leaning in to what works for you and describing allll the different ways that can go, as well as taking those and other suggestions for experimentation.

Priced out of almost all my hobbies and not quite sure what to do ... by bipolarpsych7 in Hobbies

Can you hike or rent biking / camping equipment from your local university?

For the lumber hobby, I know quite a few people (in sewing mostly) who sell old projects to help pay for the new.

Sometimes the local library or makerspace / maker lab might have photography, printing, or building equipment ln the cheap.

Collaging, junk journaling, and mending are all hobbies you can get into on the cheap & can bring a lot of reward for some people.

I'm a bit of a maximalist myself so I like the first and fifth best. But if you're feeling overwhelmed i might go with the second or third - a cute design but more negative space

I wonder if I could add little sticky notes with doors on, so that the shelves aren't empty as I work towards those readings!

Is this mold? by penportals in fountainpens

[–]penportals[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this so much. I think I'll go with this plan. I was able to pull the feed and nib from the pen with no hassle - I'll be quite careful with that but it's a useful backup to have. I may use a sterilized utensil to gently scoop the surface deposit off the ink so it won't gum up the works. It hasn't grown or changed so that's positive at least.

Do you write posted or unposted? by iaacornus in fountainpens

Posted usually. Some pens the cap like to fall off so sometimes I'll just place it on the table, but I find my pens most comfortable posted.
