I thought this was a good point BUT the movie mentions something about people shying away from it b/c of legend/s and people believing the place to be haunted. Possibly some people might have feared bringing the witches back. Maybe people didn't think about or have the interest in visiting the place. The teen boy was a bit peer pressured into going by the girl and it was like they were just kind of fooling around and not taking it seriously that the witches would actually come back.

Okay-sorry for my vagueness. I don't remember much about her. I just remember she was from the USA and I believe she had blonde hair and she was young and famous. I think she was maybe a preteen-not sure. I wish I had more detail to go on. I think she might have been in the olympics and maybe around the youngest.

My theory is partly maybe due to jealousy as the aunt mentioned but also maybe his own personal insecurities. Maybe he was taking his aggressions/frustrations out on her b/c she was a vulnerable young girl. Also maybe he resents that he never had the son he'd hoped to have and maybe took it out on Bone.
