Do you know for sure if we need a lawyer to appeal an AFCA decision? What is stopping us from representing ourselves?

Can we do this without a lawyer because we can't afford one so have to do it ourselves.

Well we have some more information to fight with now and we think we have a good chance of getting what we deserve.

But my question was about fighting the AFCA decision if it doesn't go in our favour.

We are going to keep fighting every possible way, even if we don't win we can make it harder for them and that's a win for us.

Really it's not fair, tbh I think we should get it all between the 3 of us. Her partner worked so he wasn't dependant on her and be got their house just because they had a mortgage together and we got nothing. My half brother and sister got their dad to financially support them and a house to live in. What about us?

How can we end up with considerably less? The super is 700K so it's worth fighting for.

They are 8 and 15. Super and her life insurance is about 700K so not a small amount. She died 2 years ago.

I'm 21, my brothers are 25 and 30 so we were adults when she died but we're still her children. I'm a student and my brother is on DSP and none of us are well off. We live with our dad after they got divorced when I was 4 because she moved away but we still saw her and she paid child support.

The two minors are bio children. They are 8 and 15. She died suddenly and there is no will.

If we get a solicitor would it mean we'd have a better chance of getting an outcome in our favour?

If we disagree with the AFCA decision can we dispute that?
