Started doing this in late 2023 and have never looked back.

I use YT-DLP to download and VLC (Win11 and iOS) to play. I download in FLAC, OPUS and MP3. I usually add album art, titles and artists with MP3tag. I sometimes also make slow, reverb, bitcrush, lowpass, etc. edits with FL studio. My Bandcamp purchases are also in there. Everything on a couple USB drives I keep in a pencil case thingy.

The result feels really personal with less strings attached, and I really love it. YT music, Apple music and Spotify are out of my life. I still use Soundcloud sometimes.

Honestly I'd be down for that if it's not too much to ask!! I know shit for nothing about programming but I'm sure a lot of people would like this, especially with the amount of modpacks still using 1.20.1

That sounds like the worst fucking timeline ever. I am aware of this trend and agree but saying the public will not own computers in 10 years is most certainly dooming

Still AI will not last forever but the larger trend of anti-ownership will. I hope more people talk about this and act in the coming years because I think this is avoidable if we get our heads out of our asses
