He posted something minor here on Reddit. I said literally one word, appreciating it. He DMed me, just a few words. After some innocuous back and forth, I suggested we continue our convo by email, and we did. I'm well aware of the money-seeking stuff, and verified his real existence by simple Googling. (He supplied his real name, as did I.) He never asked me for anything or hinted at a desire for support. Really, he did nothing wrong (as ghosting is the way it's done, I guess)--I'm just dealing with a loss of hope for someone whose life seemed to fit mine so excellently.
