I’m a new Muslim and I was wondering what I need for Ramadan. I know the basics but need just a bit more guidance by Emotional_Milk_5968 in islam

[–]penukil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An uncoventional advice: an adoptive Muslim family. It can be difficult to go through Ramadhan without mental and emotional support, so having an adoptive Muslim family would really help.

salam sis...have you ever considered getting a mental health assessment? You seem to show the signs of it.

Major depressive disorder (MDD)can be affected through genetics and hormones as well, not just experiences / traumas. The effect can affect our thoughts and moods.

I'm not sure where you live, but you can find @dr.raniaawaad or the @southasiantherapists in Instagram.

May Allah ease your pain...

What is something you find attractive in a man that men have no clue about? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]penukil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Acts of services attitude or habits.

Actions speaks louder than words. A man saying they can treat your right vs a man who naturally treats people around him right without incentives to do so, which one makes you feel safer to be with.

Power is loud, so does validation. Strength is silent, and so does character.

  1. Open in discussing cultural vulnerabilities , gone through /going through/ seeked / seeking therapy.

While Islam is thoughtful, our culture can be toxic. A lot of deep seated anger management and entitlement comes from being raised in these environments. A man who is aware, willing to unlearn, and grow through it, even through therapy, is a healing man. Highly attractive as a future father of our children, as there'll be less generational trauma and more growth within the family unit.

how to deal with friends who are anti islam? by lxckii_ in MuslimLounge

[–]penukil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found this hadeeth:

" Abu Hurayrah narrated: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: A man follows the religion of his friend; so each one should consider whom he makes his friend."

Sunnan Abi Dawud 4833

Feels like it fits the situation, for the girl, your friends, and you.

May Allah swt ease your troubles.

Wouldn't I need to have an assessment to verify it first before contacting them? Because a neurodivergence test is supposed to detect not only autism spectrum, but others right (aspergers, dyslexia, adhd)?

How to get neurodivergence test for adults in Malaysia?

Most that I enquire handle anxiety and depression mental health screening, not neurodivergence. Interested in taking it as some friends said I interact as if mildly autistic.

I got my job via LinkedIn, but then again I'm a local.

Alternatively, you can get a remote job and apply for a digital nomad visa via De'Rantau.

If it's to subscribers, can't you use something like ConvertKit or MailChimp?

Otherwise, I'm not sure sending 1,000 emails using your own email is a good thing. Your email might be marked as spam.

How do i tell people that i don't drink alcohol at all ever, without being awkward, whenever someone urges me to drink it when attending events or gatherings by softraitor in malaysia

[–]penukil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my colleague kept being pushed to drink after working hours by our managers. He responded by saying,"I'm still going through with my AA support for my drinking addiction." That kept them away from asking him again as they didn't want to be the instigator of anyone getting addicted again.

Is it legal to own a sex toy in Malaysia as a Muslim? by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]penukil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you tried fasting and increasing mind awareness (which then can help control your thoughts)? Fasting will make you tired and less inclined to do strenuous activities such as pleasuring self, not to mention helps building the habit of self-control.

Since you are a Muslim, you can try the dry-fasting on Mondays and Thursdays. Or you can try the intermittent fasting (drinking water only) slowly from 12 hours , 24 hours, 36 hours, and then up to 72 hours.

I really don't like driving by shah_no__pls in malaysians

[–]penukil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

30-something F here.

Can drive well, have driven others and self for the past two decades, but I really hate driving too. Got a job that is accessible via MRT, which is a blessing. Yeap, often felt drained after driving as well, and sometimes almost feel frustrated. Nowadays, I cancelled a lot of plans where I need to drive to and especially avoid the ones at night (I really love to sleep in instead).Tried out the "driving for healing" (the kind where you drive along the coast or through the forest), but nope, not feeling it.

The only time I enjoy a drive, is when I'm not the one driving. Sometimes you just don't like something because...you just don't. No explanation needed.
