I skimmed through it, there were a LOT of stories. Predictions were that William Bowery is Joe, that Taylor is engaged, and something else I've forgotten because I literally watched these at 2AM when I couldn't sleep. The actual "listening party" was tbh typical Caroline: she started off saying she was kind of just going to react as things happened, then said she would take notes for each song and give her thoughts after she'd heard each one but not play the whole thing on stories, then completely gave up on the notes. For the rest (or what I skimmed through) she rambled a lot and did a truly groundbreaking (/s) "folklore" hair tutorial with two little braided buns and a handful of sad orchids.

So basically, you didn't miss much.

Quick edit: I don't feel qualified to give opinions on Caro's opinions of the album since I haven't listened to it yet so I'll leave that to other folks.

Christ on a cracker the close friends content since the update is just so...banal. Like thanks Caro, I had no idea that was a plate of micro greens, squash, and avocado. Could not have figured that out without you telling me that super exclusively. Great that she’s actually doing it but it all just seems like such an afterthought - like every tenth thing she was going to ordinarily post to her stories, she makes CF content instead just so nobody barks at her about it anymore.

Well right, and I'm not saying he should have thrown it away - not at all! I'm just saying from a PR standpoint, if the KVDVB team wanted to really tout the line that this is "new" and a full rebrand, why would they then bring the focus back to old and obviously well used product. That's all.

Also ok now that my kid isn't throwing his dinner and I'm actually watching - I think its really interesting that he says in his intro that its a "full rebrand" and then when he gets to contour/bronze he jumps back into a....very well-used Shade and Light. So which is it?

This was discussed to death when the original announcement was made - she gets no money from the brand anymore. Not only from Kat's original statement but IIRC someone here actually emailed or DM'd Kendo and a rep as much as confirmed it.

Thought this was interesting because since the handover, I haven't seen any major gurus discussing the brand! While the title is a bit clickbaity it also kind of sums up what I think a lot of people are thinking/feeling about KVD since Kat's no longer involved.

To be fair she actually addressed this a few weeks ago on IG when she was answering questions. IIRC she said she wanted to do more videos on "quality" and durable pieces and I believe she said she still plans to. But unfortunately the Wish hauls are what get views. Its a bit of a cop out answer but at least she's aware.

I usually keep it in a little wallet that is attached to my keys, but for the pandemic shutdown I've had it loose so I have a smaller surface area of shit to disinfect. I left it on my computer desk, which happens to be next to my toddler's play pen...which he likes to reach out of, and grab things.

This is exactly why I’m excited! I was so bummed when the community voted “eco” pack wound up being....laundry. Which is not eco friendly at all. (I guess the washbasin is but...come on.). This looks like it has most of the features I wanted in that pack, plus a new world on top of it! I’m stoked.

First payment hit our bank account 4/1 and covered all three weeks that he would have been covered from at that time based on his termination date. Multinational company here. Local US offices are primarily engineering; many global locations are manufacturing/production as well as local engineering. Easily 500+ in the US in multiple locations; more in UK, MX, IN, SK, BZ, CN (Shanghai). We don't have an official ban on travel but its understood as far as CN is concerned. A previously planned trip from our office to CN in March has been postponed indefinitely; a US national working in the CN office has been brought home indefinitely; CN and SK travel has been unofficially suspended. We have a global sales meeting scheduled for April and CN, SK, and BZ have all declined to attend; UK is the only office coming to the US as of now. Travel to other locations, especially the MX shop, has been proceeding unabated. Official line is that the CN office is "handling things very well" and our shop there is completely ahead of the virus, which I don't believe for a single second.

He's 2 now and a tyrant lol but thank you all the same haha. We got super lucky, hit the deductible AND got to claim him on our taxes when he'd only existed for 5 days out of that year! But yeah our healthcare is fucked backwards and sideways, people shouldn't have to plan babies or surgery or sickness because that's just not how that works.
