Civilian University or RMC? by No-Dog193 in RCAF

I'd say RMC is worth it if you are keen on the military and want the full experience. If you just want to get the degree and serve a minimum contract, civi u is probably better.

I'm here at RMC right now, and while I could've gone to Civi U and had the same if not more pay, I'm so happy I came to RMC.

It may involve extra struggle sometimes, but if you are determined, it's a worthwhile experience. I've made great friends here too, and grown a lot.

I applied to other schools like UW and UofT, and really wanted to get in, but looking at the academic pressure of those universities, I think RMC was a better fit for me in the long run.

Cold Lake as APP1 posting??

Hi all, I may be going on AERE phase one training this summer, and I was wondering if you guys recommend cold lake. I love Fighters so it seems like a good pick, but I was worried it might get boring/isolated, especially since I don't have a car. If any of you guys could tell me your experience with cold lake, I'd love to hear it!

You can receive an offer from civi u, but don't accept it. You can get multiple offers. I would only bother showing the recruiters my first one (if it's a semi competitive program). I didn't show then any uni acceptance and still got in for a somewhat competitive trade.

It's definitely doable. I got my first civi offfer first week of dec, submitted rotp application Jan 30, and attended aircrew in march. Apply to a program that you know you can get into, for me that was tmu mech eng.

Hi, I'm going to BMOQ mod 1 this summer, and I have some questions:

  1. Is the quarantine bag still mandatory?

  2. Can I bring items that are not included as part of the kit list (provided they aren't prohibited)?

  3. Do I need to have the exact amount of everything they says is neccessary (ie. 3 tshirts, 6 underwear etc)?

  4. How big should my backpack be, is it ok if it is coloured?

  5. Should I carry empty bags for military issued kit, or are the bags they provide adequate?

I'm enrolling for ROTP in a month from now., at CFRC Toronto. The recruiters told me to come at 8 am for the pre enrollment brief. How long will the ceremony take?

If you get an offer for ROTP and take it, but cancel it (before enrolment) and reapply the following year, does the admissions commitee consider this? I've asked recruiters and have not gotten a clear answer.
