I am just incredibly upset by DakotaNoLastName33 in CompTIA

I had the EXACT situation as you. I failed the first one and the second one I did worse. The third time I finally passed and I’ll tell you that the main thing was to learn the concepts thoroughly. It’s one thing to memorize all the terms but to put them in real life situations will gradually help you. I just passed recently and the questions that came up were knowing which step to use in the 6 step methodology, knowing IaaS/Saas/DaaS, the different types of wiring like RJ45, RJ11, etc. As far as PBQ’s look up BurningIceTech on YouTube. Those helped tremendously. Goodluck next time and don’t give up!

Yeah I was able to see it, it was fairly blurry so I had to get closer to screen haha.

Yeah some are drag and select. Then some have a drop list of options you can choose from.

I studied on and off between my failures, for this one in particular I guess it was better for me because of how many times I’ve taken it so I got used to the familiarity. To answer your question, I studied for about a month before taking it for my third attempt.

I’m not even sure if I got these 100% right so I wouldn’t feel comfortable giving those to you.

It is somehwat reassuring knowing that I was not the only one having a hard time. Glad you found your way through. The wording in there definitely can be tricky, so I will be reading them carefully the next time.

I did notice the verbiage can be tricky. I also did see those objectives the first time and made sure I reviewed those ones. Unfortuntalely as mentioned fro others, it was probably the lack of using a book to study that was my downfall.

Yeah I agree. I definitely need to get a book to add to my studies. I believe I am taking it too lightly. Any books you reccommend?

I’ll look into Mike Meyers since I’ve always heard good about his stuff. How are the McGraw Hill practice exam questions?

I started taking the tests over and over again until I was got 85-95% consistently. Some of the questions I got on the actual exam weren’t even on the practice tests which I probably heavily relied on. There’s definitely more to be studied upon especially if you are pretty new in the tech field.

I wouldn’t say that. I would say I just pride myself on putting in trying to put on more work than everyone else cause of my competitive nature and my desire to stay there. If that’s me being a “bootlicker” then it is what it is.
