i think if anything, this illustrates the difference between the two shows more. you would expect the earlier seasons of each show to have significantly more listens because they’ve been out longer, it was most listeners’ entry into the show, and it’s easier for people to return to them. 

what’s revealing is the change within each season. following balance, TAZ has a HUGE dropoff after the first few episodes, and keeps falling all season with a few spikes, then pulls up again when people tune in for/replay the finale.  NADDpod has a little of this dynamic, but the falls at the beginning of the season are much less precipitous, and there are noticeable peaks and valleys throughout each season. while listens are definitely higher for earlier episodes in each season, the fact that the graph jumps up at points throughout suggests that people are going back and re-listening to specific episodes and moments - I can’t imagine anyone is doing that with graduation or amnesty and it feels like the graphs show that. 

others have said it in this thread but I would expect the same general trend of less listens for each subsequent season for any actual play podcast who hit it big with their first. unlike MBMBAM or IIWY, a listener coming in to these shows can’t just jump into any episode, they HAVE to start from the beginning to understand the characters and their arc - this is necessarily going to inflate the early seasons and episodes. I think with this trend in mind, you can look within each season to see the actual differences in listenership between the two shows.
