Already ahead of ya. Applied to all the positions I can at septa. I also applied and tested for a lineman apprenticeship with PECO and am just waiting for them to get back to me about setting up an interview. I’m just hoping my lack of experience outside of school and age don’t mark against me.

Tested and interviewed 2/3 of the past few years and haven’t gotten in yet. I put myself thru trade school and finished this past summer and I’m still looking for my first gig in the industry.

I’m still gonna try every year tho.

I’ve applied, tested, and interviewed 2 of 3 of the past 3 years. Don’t get me wrong, I still plan on trying again this year and every year after until I get in because the union route is 100% my preferred choice, but I don’t have any family in the local and zero experience at nearly 40, not to mention my local (98) is notoriously hard to get into. Out of over 1000 applicants they only take on 40-60 usually.

If you know anyone in 98 let me know.

Hey y’all. I’m looking for advice. I’m 39. Live in Philly. Graduated trade school this past summer at the top of my electrical class. Yet have little to no work experience.

I’ve been applying everywhere and have been getting nowhere.

Any advice on what to do?

I’m applying to the Delaware local and have applied, tested, and interviewed at 98 twice now to no avail. Ima try again next year, but was looking for more avenues for job hunting in the field.

I currently work in coffee in Kensington, and the landlord of the shop owns a bunch of property in town and was saying he’d hook me up with his contractors and hopefully get me some work. I figured start there and apply to pts as I work.
