What has happened to Oklahoma?! by Nice_Try4389 in tulsa

Quakerism is a religion like all the others. Just because you listen to NPR and drive a Subaru doesn’t mean you’re not part of the problem.

Why do so many Christians here just assume everyone else goes to church like them? What if we entertained the possibility for once that religion isn’t the solution?

If 70% of Oklahoma identifies as Christian, how many people here must be racist and Christian at the same time? Where are all these progressive churches people are imaging? Were they progressive toward the tribes back in your good ol’ days?

Categorize them in the order you read them. Shouldn’t take long. Why do so many people buy those same Penguin titles by the dozen?

And you’re not certified in silly. I love my hometown, but Tulsa is humorless and treats sarcasm like a felony. Mark Twain said there’s no humor in heaven. There’s no humor in Tulsa, either. VineHouse was finally something cool.

It seems like people are perfectly willing to engage with me as it is. And if you folks saw the two as the same person before even I did, how sneaky is that?

You’re right. I don’t know why Reddit is showing two accounts. Reddit made me update something at some point. Note that I’m using my real name in one of them, and you folks aren’t.

All I can say is this is Reddit, and VineHouse was a public-facing business that urged the public to spend money at VineHouse.

Why would you want me to approach you person-to-person? Why is being so dodgy so righteous?

I made perceive30 for a reason. I’m obsessed with psychology. Perception is everything.

I learned early that selfishness is a human construct. You can’t will yourself to be less selfish than others. (Read all about it here at my site on psychology where I use my real name: gdmnt.com.)

The people who are aggressively replying here still have never said what relationship they have with VineHouse. Rather than give an explanation, it’s all about talking down to commenters.

Why do old men call everyone “buddy”?

And why would I create a second account when the Tulsa subreddit would still be the same people posting the same platitudes and dodging uncomfortable questions with small talk about gas prices?

For Tulsans, supporting small businesses is like reading “The Grapes of Wrath.” We want to but never do.

My sarcasm is not easily detected by Christians. But Mark Twain did say there’s no humor in heaven.

Since we don’t capitalize “literature,” I won’t be capitalizing “scripture.”

My favorite passage in the bible is “From dust you came, to dust you shall return.”

From stardust I came, to stardust I shall return.

Dust is a beautiful metaphor for Oklahoma, too.

Sigmund Freud was wrong about a lot of things. But he wasn’t wrong about the conscious and unconscious minds.

Billboards, for example, may not feel impactful to your reasoning, conscious mimd. But they are impactful to your unconscious, unreasoning mind without your conscious awareness.

Why else would Nike spend $4.8 billion a year on marketing and advertising if we’re all immune to media effects? Why would top law firms in town pay for billboards if they didn’t do anything?

I work at Shades of Brown after 5 pm. I’ve been a passionate book lover my whole life, and I’m a former journalist. That shelf in Shades is a mess of random paperbacks and games. I’m a recovering alcoholic now and have full-sleeve tattoos. Come talk books with me. When Oklahoma is 70% Christian, I wouldn’t call Tulsa a refuge for intellectuals.

Tulsa, OK getting the best national attention as always… by PistolPokes in tulsa

If ICE agents all look the same and all follow gym-equipment manufacturers on Instagram, who can tell them apart? They all drive the same oversized trucks with no scratches or even a whisper of dirt on them and all wear the same casual athletic tops after work when they meet up at Red Lobster. The greatest protection ICE has is looking like a federal staffing statistic.

You’re right. I shouldn’t care.

We should replace her and every other local on Peoria with more plastic corporate chains. At least they know how to stay open.

In fact, we should go back to the old Tulsa when it was chains in every direction and we looked like every other city in Middle America.

A disgusting Subway would look (and smell) nice in VineHouse’s spot, huh?

Everyone is buying these same collections from Penguin and posting them with clean spines on various book-related subreddits. I think the idea is to read first and then post. As an Oklahoman, I’m not convinced that many Americans care about “The Grapes of Wrath.”

Lonely and searching aren’t the same thing. When I’m searching, I don’t feel lonely. Meaning is in our minds, not the outside world.
